Exceptional value dishwasher
The dishwasher is of exceptional quality and construction. It cleans dishes very well with minimal noise. Washing capability is superior to a previous model I used from different brand. Display works well, and offers plenty of status into cycles and fluid levels. Drying capability is slower than other machines I've used with an element, but a trade-off for decreased energy use.
Hi there Zac! Really glad to hear your dishwasher is delivering the quiet, powerful cleaning you were hoping for. Sounds like it’s been a solid upgrade all around. If you ever need anything in the future, @LGUSSupport is always here to help. #LifesGood ❤️ ^Rich
Quiet Performance and Great Features.
I've had the LG Front Control Dishwasher (LDFN4542D) for a few weeks now, and it is a significant upgrade from my previous unit. It offers a sleek, modern look that fits perfectly in my kitchen, and the Print Proof black stainless steel finish really does help keep smudges away. The best part is how quiet it is. My old dishwasher sounded like a jet taking off, but with this one, I can actually have a conversation in the kitchen while it's running. The third rack is also way more useful than I expected for things like spatulas and large serving spoons. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is the drying. If you don't use a rinse aid, your dishes is definitely going to stay wet. I've learned to just crack the door for a bit after the cycle ends or use the "Extra Dry" setting, but it's a minor annoyance. Still, it cleans the dishes perfectly, even the crusty stuff, so I'd definitely recommend it if you want something that looks high-end without the crazy price tag.
Hi! We appreciate you sharing such a thoughtful review of your LG Dishwasher. It’s great hearing how much you’re enjoying the sleek design, quiet performance, and the convenience of that third rack — those features are definitely favorites among many LG owners. Your insight about drying performance and the benefit of using rinse aid or the Extra Dry option is truly helpful and will be shared with the team! Capacity & Noise
Capacity is very generous. So quiet you almost want to push the start button, again.
Hello, Bill! We’re glad to hear your LG Dishwasher is delivering that generous capacity and impressively quiet performance. It’s always a great sign when an appliance runs so smoothly you almost think you need to press the start button again. Thanks for sharing such a positive experience! Horrible
This was a total nightmare! On the phone with customer service for over 2 hours with no results! They delivered the machine but there was no plan to install it, which was the main reason I bought it from Sams instead of somewhere else. Transfered several times, and the LG customer service was the worst! Rude and nasty. Its still sitting in the middle of my kitchen Un-installerd, but they said they filed a claim and will get back to me, probably not today. I had to burn a vacation day for this, and I get home to late for them to come without me burning another vacation day. Last large appliance I'll buy from Sams. So very disappointed, and underwelmed by the whole thing.

Okay dishwasher
I was hoping it would be okay, and it is but only just okay. Noisy. Upper rack (not the cutlery rack) rocks like a seesaw, kind of goofy feeling. Lower rack has vertical tines (or nearly so) that I find easier to load than my old bosch with the slanted tines. Washing performance is acceptable but it doesn’t get rid of that whitish film out of the bottom of a saucepan. Drying performance is… poor! Did I mention it’s noisy? Rumbling away in the kitchen doing its okay job. And good grief that jaunty little chime is annoying. I was used to the silence of my old Bosch but I really did not like loading it which is why I wanted to try another brand. Regrettably I will keep using the LG until it croaks.

Worst appliance experience ever
Absolutely the worst appliance buying experience I have ever had. Purchasing on Sam's Club website includes delivery, install and haul away - but in my case - not so much as it did not happen. After 40 plus days and 2 incompetent delivery attempts I was forced to cancel the purchase and go elsewhere. It seems that are there are three parties involved in my case - LG, Sam's Club and RXO Logistics - between these three parties nothing happened the way it was supposed to. The core of the problems were the delivery and install and general communication between the three parties. The delivery/install team would not install - isn't this what I paid for? Do your due diligence and research. This purchase transaction was a complete failure on the part of Sam's Club.

LG LDFN4542S Dishwasher – A One-Year Nightmare
This LG LDFN4542S dishwasher has been nothing short of a disaster for just over one year. From day one, it threw BE error codes nonstop. We followed every guideline: proper detergents, multiple brands tried, perfectly leveled, even disassembled the drain pipes to make sure there were no blockages. Nothing worked. NOTHING. LG’s “solutions” and forum advice—bubble errors, level errors, drain issues—are a joke if you actually try to live with this machine. The troubleshooting is endless, the dishwasher refuses to cooperate, and the errors come back cycle after cycle like clockwork. The control panel is a nightmare too—touch it by accident when walking past, and the machine turns on like it has a mind of its own. And don’t even get me started on this so-called “bubble error”—more like a permanent, unfixable headache. And the cherry on top? It leaked all over our kitchen floor. No warning, no second chances. I didn’t even bother trying to fix it—I grabbed my tools and ripped this useless junk out. Permanently. We replaced it with a Bosch dishwasher at the same price, and in just a few loads, the difference is night and day: no error codes, no leaks, no ongoing torment. If anyone wants a guaranteed headache, this LG is free and sitting in my garage. LG, you should come pick this lemon up and explain why your dishwashers don’t work. Otherwise, just run—don’t walk—away from this nightmare.
Hi. Thank you for sharing your experience with your LG Dishwasher. Your detailed description of the BE error codes, the repeated troubleshooting you attempted, the control panel behavior, and the leak gives a very clear picture of what you encountered with the LG unit. Your comparison to the replacement dishwasher you installed also helps highlight how the experience differed for you. To allow us to properly investigate the details of your specific product model and to see how we can assist with your BE error‑related and leak‑related issue being encountered, please send us an email at lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com if you need further assistance. Terrible product do not buy
Bought 6/23. Vacation home. So not daily or even weekly use. Today 11/24 the control panel is going crazy w flickering lights and clicking. On phone w LG for “extended 2 year manufacture warranty” that Sams club offers….LG states it is not a full 2 year extension of warranty and only includes parts. So I am responsible for labor. Completely unacceptable.
Hi, there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand your concern about dealing with your LG Dishwasher (LDFN4542S) model, control panel issues and the confusion surrounding the warranty coverage. We strive to provide top-notch products and excellent services to ensure a smooth experience. For the flickering lights and clicking sounds, it sounds like there could be an issue with the control board or the wiring connections. We recommend first checking to ensure there are no loose connections around the control panel and that the power supply is stable. If everything seems secure, it may be necessary for a technician to inspect and potentially replace the control board.Regarding the warranty, while the extended warranty through Sam's Club may cover parts, it’s not uncommon for some third-party extended warranties to exclude labor costs. We’d like to help clarify this further. Please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport, and our team will work with you to explore the best way to move forward. We value your feedback, and we’re here to help resolve this issue for you. ^Juvy
Junk, junk, junk, junk. Run and don't look back!
I bought one of these. It was junk after about a year when the warranty ran out. Control board flickered and beeped and shut off and restarted, then the circulation pump went out. (the part with the useless 10 year warranty that you can't use without sending out a tech for a few hundred dollars). Also the diverter motor failed a while back. After just over 2 years of having this LG we have decided to scrap it since it is a constant drain on the $$$. Look at the reviews thoroughly online for this item. Tons of pump failures in first couple years. Parts for this model are insanely high too compared to other brands.
Hi, Neal. Thanks for sharing your feedback with us. We hear you and understand your concern about experiencing multiple issues with your LG Dishwasher (LDFN4542S) model. Our goal is to make sure our products are reliable and meet your needs. Just a heads up, the circulation pump is covered by our 10-year warranty, but labor costs for service visits aren’t included. If you haven’t tried it yet, resetting the unit by turning off the breaker for a few minutes might help with any power-related hiccups. Do not order from Sam's Club
Sadly I cant review how it works. This was delivered on June14th 2025 and is still sitting in its box in my living room. They brought it without the proper accessories to install it and just left it there. Why did they bother bringing it without all the proper parts like they were surprised they had to install it? We have called and emailed and still it sits there . When we ordered appliances from that other big box place it was all done on timeand in one visit .
