I bought this dish washer November 18, 2024, about month ago and I have few comments. 1) very quiet, 2) even with extra dry end of cycle it leaves water droplets on racks, need help 3) very difficult to arrange pots and pans 4) very good to arrange plates, glasses and bowls 5) you cannot use extra dry cycle only.

Great but the motor burned out quickly
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this dishwasher a couple of years ago and right after the warranty ran out, the motor burned out and nearly burned down our kitchen. I love LG products- we have a fridge, washer, dryer, and other smaller items by LG. But this dishwasher is apparently problematic, at least according to the fire fighters who had to visit. It was very quiet and cleaned dishes efficiently up until that time, though.

When it's not in use and turned off.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Highly disappointed in LG dishwasher # 2. The dishwasher looks cheap. There is NO logo on the front of the dishwasher as shown in the picture. The front looks generic. The most important requirement was that it be quiet. The noise level is not 45 decibels. It sounds nothing like dishwasher #2. I can hear it running upstairs. I hate I didn't have them come and get it. It does not do a good job of drying either.
Hey Robby! Thanks for sharing your experience with your second LG dishwasher with us. A quiet, sparkling, clean kitchen is just a cycle away! We'd love to help you tackle that high dB and get it drying dishes like a pro again. Starting with the high noise level, we recommend checking the noise level on your next load using a dB-check app or device to ensure the dishwasher isn't running at a higher-than-normal volume. If your LG dishwasher is running at the expected 48 dB, we recommend checking out our page here for the common types of noises to get a better idea of which kinds of sounds are considered normal for the unit: https://shorturl.at/IvbnO. To help optimize your drying experience, we recommend following our help page guide here: https://shorturl.at/hQHSn. This will guide you through common causes of improper drying and techniques to get the most out of your LG dishwasher in terms of drying. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far, mostly good. Bottom rack wants to come off rail when half way out, though. Love the countdown timer. Keeps me from opening it too early. I have noticed it takes a really long time to run a cycle, but read where some other cycles take less time, so I’ll try those. Dishes come out clean and fairly dry, but I always pre wash at sink out of habit. I did put a couple of things in there that were “dirty”, unfortunately it did not pass the test at the end. If I can find a fix for bottom rack, I’ll be 4.5 happy.
Not a good product.
Starting receiving an HE error code after 2 years and now it will only work on the turbo mode. This dishwasher has the heater element integrated to the motor which is ridiculous. No warranty for this large and expensive component and my only choices are to either pay more money than it's worth to have a tech. look at the product or repair it myself. I have all LG appliances and the displays on the oven and microwave stopped working at the 1.5 year mark. I have already had to replace the oven heating element myself. These products are junk and generally more expensive to pay someone to fix than to repair myself.
Hello there! Thank you for sharing your experience with the LDFN4542S dishwasher. We understand the HE error code and the limitations you’re facing with the appliance. It’s understandably frustrating when a product doesn’t perform as expected, especially after only two years of use. We recognize that having the heating element integrated with the motor can complicate repairs, and it’s disappointing to hear that you’ve had similar issues with other LG appliances. Your feedback regarding the reliability of our products is important, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention. You can contact us via private message @LGUSSupport, and we’ll do our best to help you find a resolution or explore your options. -Junel
Bottom Rack is Really Cheap
We've had this dishwasher for just over 3 weeks. It cleans well, but it's hard to load and unload. The bottom rack is really light and the rack itself is really wide. Our small plates drop part way down through the rack and then catch when you roll the rack out. This pops the rack out of place and it won't roll back in. For the price, buy something else.
We appreciate your feedback, and we're sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with your LG dishwasher. Your feedback helps us keep fresh perspective regarding new ways to improve our services and future product developments. ^Nikki
Still waiting on 2nd repair in 6 days
When it works, it's great, but it stops short of completing cycle and leaves water standing in the bottom. It will also just start flickering the time remaining really fast and the only option is to open the machine until it decide to slow down to the normal flashing speed and the machine again and hope it continues the cycle without doing it again. Just had the control panel replaced 6 days ago and it is still doing the same thing. So at this point, can't say I am a very happy camper.

LG and the new kitchen a perfect fit.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought a LG dishwasher for our new modern kitchen, this will be our last kitchen to plan and construct. We downsized to a smaller one story home that had a kitchen that was built in 1955. The old kitchen had to go, We went to the local big box store and purchased a range, frig, microwave, and dishwasher. All of the LG appliances are very futuristic modern and fit the design of our new kitchen. Like they say "Happy wife, happy life" and she is very happy with all her LG appliances.

Cleans well, average noise level
I bought this brand/model because it was on sale and closer to reasonable price than most. It has the 3rd top rack which is nice, but I need more space for small pet bowls and the bottom rack is best for large utensils. Not quite what I wanted. Front controls are so sensitive the machine turns on while I am working on the counter above it. Did not have that issue with a previous front control machine I used for many years.

Worst dishwasher ever
This is, by far the worst dishwasher out there. 1. The bottom rack falls off the track every single time I open it. 2. The glasses put on the middle rack never got clean and I have to wash by hand after. 3. The top rack does not clean anything. I stopped putting silverware up there. 4. We get constant error messages. This was a new dishwasher and it hasn't worked properly since the moment we got it.
