The gazebo itself is beautiful but I purchased it June 23rd and paid $4238.94 which included assembly and taxes. Huge boxes were placed on the curb where my trash is normally picked up. Friends and I had to put the boxes in my yard because it took 3 attempts to actually get an assembly team to show up. Two times assembly had been assigned and both times I was called the night before after regular business hours to cancel. I took off work to be home and there was no way to get those hours/money back. Third “team” shows up hours apart from one another. The main assembler (Jamal) basically attempted to do everything himself. It was hot so my hat went off to him. I bought lunch, provided Gatorade’s and bottled water. His helper showed up a couple hours after him and barely did anything. So when it started to get dark he asked if they could come at 730 to finish and miss the heat. They were supposed to assemble it that Thursday July 13th. I agreed that would be ok because I had outdoor furniture being delivered at 930 and needed it completed. I woke up at 0622 to banging outside. Upon going outside I saw both assemblers were in the backyard. That’s when I was told Jamal had an appt at 8 and would be leaving but the helper would stay and finish if they weren’t done by the time he had to leave. I went inside and took a shower. When I came back outside both assemblers were gone and had left a mess of parts and trash where the outdoor furniture was to be delivered. Jamal called and said he received a call from his helper that he left and he wasn’t supposed to do that. I let him know that put me in a bad place because of the delivery. I ended up having to clean up their mess just in time for the furniture delivery. I had to go out of town for a work trip so I told Jamal the gate would be open that I needed it finished. He said he would make it right so I left. On Sunday when I got home there was trash all over my yard but mostly consolidated right next to the recycling and trash bins instead of inside them or taken away (like most professional assemblers do) “Extra” nuts, bolts, washers and the gazebo owners manual were covered in bugs because the Wendy’s leftover food and spilled Gatorade was in the huge boxes. I had to separate the recycling break down the cardboard boxes that didn’t have good residue and trash everything myself. The gazebo was not bolted down and was missing two riser clips and bolts for the roof. I called U Configure (subcontractor Sam’s uses for assembly) customer service on July 17th. I was assured the parts would be expedited to me and a different assembly team would finish the gazebo. I received the parts and called customer service on the 27th and an assembly team has been assigned but no date for assembly. I sent pictures of my trashed concrete pad and yard and no one has even called me. I was told they might give me an appeasement after the gazebo is complete. I guess that’s why no one is coming to finish the job. I had to take off from work a total of three times and failed the city inspection because it wasn’t assembled completely. I had to pull a building permit. Screws were provided to secure the gazebo to the concrete but Jamal said their company doesn’t do that. It is a requirement per city code/permit approval. I had to pay another contractor to secure the mostly put together gazebo to the concrete. I can’t return the gazebo because it was delivered July 13th but I paid $800 for assembly and it’s not being done. When I call the subcontractor/assembler customer service number, the representatives never have an answer, put me hold, come back on the line and tell me the district manager has been made aware and someone will call me with a date for assembly but no one ever calls me back.
