Pump stopped working after 1.5 years
Worked well for the first year and a half, and then pump stopped working. I have this dehumidifier in my basement, so going down there to empty the full bucket is a pain. Also, when it worked, the pump only kicked in once the bucket was full, so there was lots of opportunity for gunk to build up. That would have been okay if the bucket was easy to clean, but there are lots of nooks that are almost impossible to reach, even with a long brush. Will have to replace this with another brand.

Poor quality
I have now purchased 3 of the Midea Dehumidifiers and all have failed around 1 year plus or minus. Two had the pump fail and the most recent had the coils freeze up. The only thing worse than the quality of the products is the customer service. Long times to respond, poor understanding of product and how it is used, continuous request for information previously provided and lack of urgency, almost hoping you give up or buy something else.
So far so good on day 2
We will see how long this one lasts. It did get my basement down to 50% from 64% humidity in about 2 hours, so that was impressive. I don't like that the fan always runs and never shuts off, not a huge fan of that. And if your like me, the instructions state you can't set the target humidity level while Comfort, Cont or Turbo modes are on, well how do you turn them off? I guess its supposed to be intuitive, you need to press the mode button your on again to turn it off, then you can set the humidity level manually.

Easy to install
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Midea 50-Pint Dehumidifier with Pump is very easy to install and we have installed it near our backyard where at one place we have excess water accumulation and mold build up. Midea 50-Pint Dehumidifier with Pump has been very effective in addressing the mold issue and I highly recommend it as a great buy!
Perfect for my basement!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product has been a lifesaver in my damp basement. I've always had an issue with the feeling of damp air and the previous ones I have tired didn't quite work well for the entire room. Within 24 hours I felt the air was lighter and dryer than previous. The machine was so easy to set up and use as I did it by myself as well as emptying it.
Amazed!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am baffled at how much H2O is in my bedroom throughout the night. I got this dehumidifier thinking it might help my sleep better by removing what I had assumed was a small amount of moisture or humidity in the room. I cannot believe how much water I empty from the container every morning. It is unreal! And yes, I am actually getting better sleep.I am snoring less according to my wife. I am pretty sure that I am using up most of the 50 pint capacity on a nightly basis. Once I unboxed the unit, it was pretty much plug and play. I like the fact the it reduces excess moisture from my home during the day. Living in Florida, I always know the humidity levels will be high. I will be looking to add the drain line to allow this unit to work more efficiently throughout the day and night. For now, I will continue to be amazed daily by how much water I have to empty from the tank. What can I say, I am easily amused!
Works great!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my Midea 50-pint dehumidifier one my basement for a few weeks now, and it has really helped control the humidity levels in the space. I really love the features of the unit, especially the auto shut off so I do not have to worry about overflow from the collection container. The unit is very easy to operate, and works wonderfully at keeping the area dry. The water collection tank is easy to remove and replace for emptying. I'm so pleased with everything about this dehumidifier, and would definitely recommend it!
Very Effective
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a home that was built in the 50's and the Midea 50-Pint Dehumidifier with Pump is perfect for my master bath that does not any type of exhaust fan and stays damp ALWAYS! This dehumidifier can really draw the moisture out of the air. I live in Louisiana where its humid 12 months a year so having the unit on wheels makes it easy to move it to wherever it's needed in my home. It's very simple to use and has an easy to empty tank and illuminating buttons to make the settings very easy to see. I set it to drain the water by taking the tank out with the handle but you can install a hose for drainage as well. It's quiet, has a washable filter and improves the quality of air in the home. The quiet and continuous operation of this wonderful machine has taken so much moisture of my home, it has been a game changer.
Perfect Dehumidifier for Your Home!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got to try to this dehumidifier and it was outstanding! My husband suffers from asthma and we also have a cat. It made the house feel and smell fresh and got rid of all of the nasty odors and dander. I highly recommend this product!
Industrial Dehumidifier
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We live in the “lowlands” in our neighborhood. This means all our neighbors' water drains into our yard. The good news is we don't need to water our backyard as much. Bad news is water accumulates under our house and in our yard, making our back bedroom and grow shed humid places. We use a smaller dehumidifier for inside our house during the rainy season. I got this bad boy for the grow shed. I need to create and maintain very specific humidity depending in the phase of my grow project. During flowering, I actually need the humidity. However during drying I need dryer air. I also need it to run for long periods without me having to empty the reservoir. The fact that this has a hose for draining is good. I use the water to water the plants in my house. The unit is large for use in a large space. To small of a space and the heat the unit emits will affect your environment. It is heavy but it has wheels which makes maneuvering much easier. It's also energy star efficient.
