I've had this unit for 2+ years now and cleaning the portafilter is horrible. It has an insert with a rubber seal around it, which sometimes let's grounds through and plugs the lower portion with a the single pinhole. I've had to trash so many shots because of the clogged pinhole. Sometimes I have to use a needle to clear pinhole. Then when trying to tap the spent grounds out, the small little portafilter disc falls out into my grounds and I have to dig it out with my hand which is messy. And, I have to fully clean the entire filter every time. I bought this unit because my brother had one, however he didn't have the two-part portafilter basket. Also, the portafilter basket is too tall and doesn't fit underneath my rochillo grinder portafilter holder. Eventhough the unit still functions and makes good espresso, I'm going to trash it because of the clogs and messiness.

We had really high expectations for the espresso, and it was pretty good. The main downside is that the setup takes over an hour, and even after the initial setup the directions state that the first few uses of the machine may not be completely satisfactory. I’ve used the machine several times at this point and it does produce a good espresso, but it just takes awhile to get there.

I love this DeLonghi Espresso and Cappuccino Machine! It makes delicious drinks! I no longer have to go out to coffee shops to buy a cappuccino, I think this actually might save me money in the long term! The fact that it includes a frother is a nice touch. This machine is very user friendly, which was great for me as I've never owned one before . It looks nice out on the counter top and doesn't take up much room at all, which i love. All in all, this is the perfect machine for my needs and I would definitely recommend! I am writing this review as part of a contest.

I'm a first time user but the instructions were really easy to follow and the results- Delicious coffee! I love how quick it is and the cleaning up is easy too. The design is sleek and the machine does not take up a lot of space. I'm looking forward to using this everyday!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My new DeLonghi Dedica EC680 15-Bar Pump Espresso and Cappuccino Maker looks super sophisticated and somewhat difficult to operate but, as long as you follow the directions you will have a delicious cup of espresso or cappuccino. It's very quick, ready to use in 40 seconds! The end product is excellent.

Looks awesome and is smaller than I thought- even has a cup warmer on top! Has pretty great temperature controls and milk frother works great – makes me feel like a real barista when using it and I have friends over.

We had our first one of these for three years and loved it until the heating element failed. We bought a second one and I was surprised to find that it’s only brewing at 175 degrees. The DeLonghi website and others say that espresso should be brewed at 197 degrees. I’m using a Thermapen which is highly accurate and I used a second thermometer to verify. I’ve measured the water coming out on its own (no espresso) and a cup of espresso brewed with an ESE pod and am getting the same temperature. I have the temperature setting on the highest setting and I have double and triple checked that setting.

This is a really nice looking stainless steel espresso machine and it fits in well with all my other stainless steel kitchen appliances. With its sleek and compact design, it doesn’t take up too much space either. The instructions are pretty simple and the control panel is pretty easy to use with its nicely illuminated buttons. It doesn’t take long to brew a cup either, due to the thermoblock technology which heats up in less than 40 seconds. I really like the milk frothing feature as well; it makes my drinks even more creamy and delicious! I am always in a hurry and have to take my coffee to go, so it is nice that this espresso machine fits taller cups such as my tall travel mug. I am saving so much money now as well, since I am not going to the coffee shop every day. It is really easy to use, and now I can make my own tasty cappuccinos and lattes for a fraction of the cost and they taste so good! I am very impressed with this espresso machine and would highly recommend it!

I have always just had a Kuerig and when I wanted a latte or cappuccino I always ended up going to a coffee shop. With the DeLonghi Dedica EC680 I can finally make my own lattes and cappuccinos and they are coffee shop quality. I read the manual and watched a YouTube video and was able to sussesfully froth my milk and make my latte the first time I used it. You are able to make single or double shots and I love that this unit is compact but beautiful since I live in a townhome. I highly recommend this espresso maker and if you are a espresso beginner like me, this is easy to use.
