Very strong and sturdy.

Great quality - but by the time you put it together, you will absolutely hate and cuss out the plastic clasps that keep the shelves in place. They snap off constantly. Other than that, it is a great unit for the price. Directions could be better on giving you tips on how to put together without the frustration. With that said, I will use this for years - fits in my small kitchen and will hold everything I need. Do not regret for one second - I got it in white and the wall is a dark navy and it looks fabulous.
