Robert Mondavi Bourbon Barrel Aged Cabernet Sauvig

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Robert Mondavi Bourbon Barrel Aged Cabernet Sauvignon had a distinct bourbon aroma. You could taste the bourbon burn. It had a good balance and would make a great steak marinade! However, it would not be my go-to for drinking.

Middle of the Road

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Cab was easy to drink and went down with a smooth finish but the flavor of bourbon and Cabernet didn’t blend well together. The aftertaste was not very pleasant and it tasted almost like a cocktail to me instead of a wine.

Great flavor and smooth

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Cabinet Sauvgnon was absolutely wonderful and one of our favorites of the four different Mondavi Wines we sampled. Smooth and goes down easy and mixed well with our aged Transylvanian Cave Cheese.

very good

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My first experience with wine aged in whisky barrels. The nose is slightly smoky, with dark fruit and then the distinct smell of bourbon. It's medium bodied in the mouth with, berries, oak and then the bourbon finishes. I was pleasantly surprised with how smooth this is. Can't decide if itsit's whisky or wine kind of evening? Try some of both.

Robert Mondavi bourbon

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Robert Mondovi bourbon barrel aged The aroma is exquisite, at the same time a little, you know until you try it, as its flavor really is, a little bitter acid the first sip is a little acid, as you continue drinking your palate gets used to it, I don't know if it will be better over time Hopefully the older the better accompany him alone

Merlot

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This wine had a cherry aroma with a dark red appearance. It is a dry wine so not sweet but has a smooth finish. I would recommend pairing it with red meats. I can't believe how inexpensive it is though.

Loving the Cab

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bourbon Barrel-Aged Cabernet has a rich smoky aroma as the flavor consumes your taste buds. After a single sip the infused bourbon flavor definitely comes through. It has a beautifully deep Burgundy appearance. I took the pairing advice and had my Cab with some angel hair spaghetti and garlic bread. I am a huge fan of Parmigiano-Reggiano and have it on all my pasta dishes. Angel hair pasta mixed in a roasted tomato and basil sauce with shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano, lightly toasted garlic bread paired with this Cab is “molto bene”. For many years I have not been a fan of your typical Cabernet Sauvignon, but the Bourbon Barrel-Aged Cab is one I will always seek out.

Pleasantly surprised

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a general rule, I do not select a Cabernet wine however of the 3 wines I tasted, this was hands down my favorite. It had definite aromas of blackberry, mocha, and bourbon. It was deep in appearance and had a smooth taste. The dark fruits and hints of vanilla but finished dry with the bourbon notes. I was very pleasantly surprised with this wine and can say that with the price point and the flavor I will definitely purchase it again. I enjoyed the wine with a chili-infused pasta dish and it was delicious together. I would definitely recommend this wine and it was the easiest of the three wines I sampled to find in stores.

Wine meets Bourbon

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was a new experience for me. I've had bourbon barrel aged beers in the past but never wine. The price point was great. Robert Mondavi is always a go to.... especially for a great Cab so this was fun to try. The flavor profile is that of your typical Mondavi Cab with that little extra kick of alcohol, spice, char, and vanilla. It's a great compliment to a good steak and will warm you up fast. Fun to try. Great to enjoy.
