Applesauce is great any time - added to oatmeal for breakfast, side dish for lunch or dinner or a sweetener in recipes. "Applesauce can be a good fat-replacer in many baked goods. Because of its water content, applesauce will also keep your baked goods moist and fresh longer." I use part applesauce and part the fat called for in the recipe. Experiment to find the right blend for you. We love fresh apples but applesauce is more convenient. We by far prefer the unsweetened applesauce because apples are naturally sweet by themselves.

That is the best we can’t get past. The sassiness of the apple sausage is so sus so amazing the apple sauce.

At about buy-2-get-one-free (at most grocers) this is really a deal. Whether used as a healthy replacement for oil when baking; as a dip for ginger snaps; a side for pork; or alone with a little sugar and cinnamon, unsweetened applesauce should always have a home in your home!
