The cap was clearly labeled for making sure the concentrated detergent was not over poured for smaller loads. I found that it did alright with everyday stains which was good considering how much my kids love to play and it also didn't leave any strange feeling on my clothes.

A a test because I haven't used gain in a while, I tried the detergent in my dark clothes with my sweatshirts and hoodies for travel. And I absolutely loved that this smelled amazing after the wash. There was no sticky or filmy residue on the clothes and I washed the clothes in cold water. I used about a a cup of the measuring cup for a large load.
