DISAPPOINTED

My car is an 09 Buick Lucerne CXL which came a set of MXV4 energy tires (best tires ever!). I was one of the first to buy a set of premier tires and was expecting something like my original set of energy tires (81,000 miles on them). I was VERY DISAPPOINTED. These tires are nothing like my originals. They ride hard, are loud, handling is not too good and have a vibration around 70 mph, which is probably due to the large amount of wheel weights added. I'm headed back to exchange them for the MXV4 plus tires at an added expense since I can't get the H rated tire instead of the V rated.

Great Michelin Tire

Recently purchased the new Premier A/S tires for my car and love them. Day after they were installed, we had a big rain and tires responded well, especially braking. No road noise and great steering/handling. Haven't had them long, but seems to already be getting a little better gas mileage.

Outstanding

2012 Buick, over 62,000 miles on Premiers, 124000 on the Buick, trying to decide whether to keep running them, or get new tires before winter. Great ride, happy with gas mileage, no issues with this set. I keep Michelins on the Buick and on my 2000 Silverado HD 4x4 pick up (254,000 miles, E rated strength tires for heavy loads, etc.) Glad Premier model is still available - Buick on Michelin Premiers is the best and safest ride there is! Very good so far

Two weeks ago we put on 4 new Premier tires to replace the <4/32s worn Primacy MXV4s on our 2012 Toyota Camry XLE. The installer could have still gotten Primacys but advised us to go with Premiers since if there was ever a need to replace a single Primacy they would not be available. I'd had concerns about the 8.5/32s new tire tread depth on the Premiers, but they pointed out the tires have sipes that both appear during tread wear and go down fully to under 2/32s which other tires don't have. We average over 15k mi/year on this car with a 60/40 balance of highway/city miles. So far in over 1600 miles of mostly freeway driving I am very satisfied with the Premiers. Mine are NOT noisy as some have complained about. Handling is excellent; I've only had 30 miles of driving in heavy rain but they did fine. I've noticed a very slight degradation in gas mileage almost not measurable but it may be down a few percent (normally get right at the Toyota EPA 35 mpg on the freeway and it's varied from around 37 with a tail wind to 32 the past 2 tanks which seems a bit low based on conditions). I will reserve judgement on winter handling and see if I can add to this review in December after our first real midwest snows. I am still concerned I'll get 60k miles but hope to get at least 50k depending on the time of the season treadwear drops under 4/32s.

Great tire

This tire basically saved me driving through NJ's worst ice storm ever, this past Sunday Jan 18. My tires were tightly grabbing the road, even in the worst conditions. They have also worked really well in snow. I replaced my RAV4 RunFlat tires with these and the drive is so much quieter and smoother. I no longer feel every bump in the road. I'm glad I got these tires.

Very little noise reduction.. Why?

I replaced stock tires on my 2014 Mazda 3 i Touring with Premier AS hoping these new tires would reduce road noise since they are supposed to be the successor of MXV4. Michellin's own web site even gave this tire a rating of 10 in comfort category. However, what I found is that noise reduction is only noticeable on super smooth asphalt pavement but how often do you get to drive on *super smooth* asphalt streets? 99% of streets in LA are non-smooth asphalt or concrete pavements. Just driving on the concrete paved 105 freeway near LAX makes me depressed because I still hear the same loud tire roar I had with Stock tires.

Expensive Garbage!

I ran MXV4s on my Honda Accord until they were discontinued. Went with the Premier A/S and have regretted it ever since. I could get 55,000-60,000 miles out of a set of MXV4s and they never seemed to get loud even when they were nearing the end of their tread life. Had the car inspected today and was told that they barely passed and I will need new tires next year. So I will end up getting maybe 40,000 miles out of a set of these garbage rim protectors. Pitiful tread life, high road noise and I feel every bump in the road. These were expensive tires and they have been a complete disappointment. Want a quality tire that lasts, look elsewhere.

Great Tires!

I drive an average of 24k miles per year and I can tell these tires stand by the manufaturer's specifications. I been using these tires for a little bit more than 3 years and over 60,000 miles and I can say that these tires are very reliable up to this day. I will be replacing them this week because it is about time to do so and the winter is coming. I will greatly recommend these tires to anyone who wants sport-type tires that handle very well under all weather conditions and moderate use.

Good tire all around except tread wear is horrible

I have a little over 30,000 miles on these tires for my Subaru Outback and they are already shot.....down to 2/32 or less tread. I'm OCD about making sure air pressures are good and the tires are rotated on-time. I've been a huge fan of Michelin and have bought many sets, but this tire is ruining my brand loyalty. I've had a set of Premier LTX's go for 60k, but these A/S's are not good. I'm going to initiate the warranty process and see how that goes. Hopefully Michelin stands behind their product and doesn't give me much grief.

Two sets wore out quickly

We went through two sets of Michelin Premier A/S tires on our 2014 Honda Pilot EX-L. Both sets rode very well with very little noise. Handling and breaking were excellent. The only downside with the Premier A/S tires (at least on our Pilot EX-L) is that we were not able to get close to the warranted 60,000 mile tread life on either set of Premier A/S tires. We got just below 30,000 miles on both sets of tires. This time around we gave up on the Premier A/S tires and switched to Defender LTX M/S tires which I have used for years with success on my truck. The dealer (and presumably Michelin) were good to deal with - they credited 45% of the original purchase price for the Premier A/S tires towards a new set of Defender LTX M/S tires.
