(Pro-tip: the stuff is too thick for the restrainer that's in the mouth of the bottle, so the first thing you should do after opening the bottle is remove that restrainer.)

Would not buy ever again! I thought I just had a bad bottle, but it appears others have had the exact same experience.

I NEVER purchase ready mix drinks as they always lack on the alcohol, but for the incredible low price (under $10) I figured I'd buy and tweak it with my own ingredients......weeeeell, no tweaking needed as this was "PERFECT AS IS", not too much and not too little rum, just the right amount. I will definitely be purchasing this every week……….GREAT MEMBER;S MARK PRODUCT (Price nor taste can't be beat :)

It’s kept on the shelf and it had lumps in it. I returned it.

I add a little water to thin it up. Still delicious and lasts longer. A little added brandy or whiskey would also work nicely! 5 stars!

I purchased it knowing it was rum, not the bourbon based like Evan Williams brand. I thought it would be good to have on hand for the holidays. It has no taste - no rum, no vanilla, no nutmeg, nothing. Just a disgusting cream gunk. I tried adding water, then tried adding rum. Neither helped. I don’t think it would even work in a bread pudding mixture in an attempt to redeem the waste of money. I would pass on this even if they were giving it away for free. I’ve tried to provide a photo but, it keeps saying an error has occurred. :-( I just wish I could return it and get a refund.

The new label states "Refrigerate after opening. Product will thicken after refrigerating." Other ones taste better with less alcohol forward taste.

The thickness helps to savor...it's egg nog! Just squeeze the bottle if ypur cup is not filling as quickly as you'd like. Hope it's sold next season! Maybe I'll stock up now.

anonymous - 3 out of 5 stars review12/23/2025Whoever wrote the blurb about this egg not that said there was a "subtle rum flavor" either never tried it or uses a heavy pour when making themselves a cocktail. It's good, but everyone in the house agreed it's very strong. We bought two bottles, so I might add some plain old eggnog to it to make it easier to enjoy. Just don't blow out any candles after having some or you might end up with a small fire.

Have bought four years in a row now and the first year was no problem, the second year is when it thickened after opening and storing in the refrigerator, returned unopened bottles thinking bad batch. Third year tried again with no problems. Just purchased more this year and it has turned into pudding again, will be returning unopened bottles and never purchase again. My thoughts are that Sams is holding over unsold stock and it spoils due to age.
