Mold requires organic material to grow, which isn’t present in our brushes. While it’s rare, mold can develop after use if the brush is stored in a damp area or comes into contact with certain cleaning agents or soaps that can make the plastic porous. It might help to know that you only need a small dollop of toothpaste on the brush head when brushing. Then, don’t turn the brush on until it’s inside your mouth. Once it’s working, let the brush do the work, moving it from tooth to tooth, without scrubbing.
