dont waste your money

i have 12.2 hours on this junk. It stays in a climate controlled garage when not being used, i run ethanol free gas only and drain the gas out when its done. We lost power the other night so i went to start it, it wont start and all it does is leak gas out of the carburetor. For what this junk costs its unbelievable how cheap it is

Best of the best...

If looks meant anything, this is a killer of a generator. I took back a B & Stratton, then bought this. Works great, easy to set up and works flawlessly with the your Manual Transfer switch. Generac is second to none when it comes to generators. Jeff M.

Cost effective and easy to setup

After close to a week with no power I decided it was a good time to look for a generator powerful enough to get everything we absolutely need. The 7500E only took about 10 minutes to setup but keep in mind you should have 2 people to easily unpack and setup otherwise it will be a little more difficult but not impossible. Parts seem strong enough and the unit started right up and runs pretty smooth. Can't say I wouldn't like to see a more quiet units but it's not terribly loud either. Overall, very happy.

Proud owner

Easy to assemble well explained instructions. You can see and feel you have a solid well built piece of equipment. Started without issue however was louder than anticipated or had hoped for. Peace of mind knowing that my family will be comfortable through power outages thanks to Generac

Generac GP18000EFI

The generator is being used to charge batteries and run a small cottage at the same time. No complaints about weight and size as it's expected. It fired right up and started going to work. The only problem we have encountered is the 30AMP breaker keeps tripping if we run small window air conditioners (5AMP) or anything at 1,500 watts=12.5AMPs for a brief 5 min. The offgrid includes four banks of 48V AGM batteries. We set the Magnum inverter down to 80% and AMPs down to 38. This seems to be helping but we can't put a larger load on. So we installing a 50AMP plug on the house with a cut off and bipass, essentially we will be running the 30AMP plug to charge the batteries and the 50AMP to run the house. Typical charge on those batteries is around 4 hours. If you plug an appliance at 12.5 AMPs direct to the generator - there's no difference in load sound. As a building contractor we designed our own off grid system and will be writing a book with as much detail as possible.

Very Satisfied

After returning the original purchase due to a defect, the replacement generator went together quickly and easily. I was concerned about previous reviews that talked about difficulty putting oil in and putting the wheels on, but I had no problems. You do need a funnel to add oil, but a funnel with a long neck worked fine. After the unit was assembled, I put some fuel in it and it fired right up. I also put a small load on it to ensure it was actually working. All in all, I'm happy and confident this unit will perform as expected when it is needed.

Very nice and works so well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The photo shows it on its side because the wheels were being put on. However the wheels make it much easier to move around and the handle is even a better touch. The noise is not as loud as some I have heard and it was easy to start with the pull start. We plan to connect it to the house so it will run a few major appliances like the deep freezer and fridge.

Great product for the price.

Unit now showing 25 hrs. Bought after storm took out the electrical service drop. Put together and had up and running in less than an hour. Operation is straight forward and pretty much plug and play so to speak. Only thing I noticed was the powder coating on the frame seemed very thin in places. could have been a little thicker. This is not a game changer just something I noticed. When you add the oil the first time try to have a long neck funnel, it's a whole lot easier to hit the opening to add the oil. Look forward to many years usage from this unit.

Awful, do not buy with the COSense

We have extended a tailpipe 5 feet up from generator exhaust, it still senses the Co2 and shuts off, no help from Generac other than taking it to a mechanic and I know the problem is the sensor. This has only been started to test, sadly, we were past the 90 days to get a full refund, we bought in case of a storm related power outage. Very disappointed. Now I will unhook the CoSense and this will void the warranty. Hard to go out and restart every 10 minutes if being used post storm. It was advertised as built in US with 2 year warranty, tag states made in China.

Having Issues

I am in the middle of Hurricane Ida. I decided to spend the money to get another generator as my Briggs and Stratton was getting more difficult to run. I purchased the generator and it ran fine for 10 hours. It ran out of gas and I filled it up with gas and it would not crank. I pulled the spark plug and cleaned it and it would not fire. I went to the store to ask about possible issues. I was told to put more oil in it. I already put the quart supplied and I was told to fill it up. I returned home and filled it up with oil. I even replace the spark plug and still no fire. I loaded up the unit and got another one. Got home, it ran for 1 hour and stopped. I went outside and cranked it again. It ran for 5 minutes and stopped. I removed all but one extension cord and removed the air breather and it is now running but i dont have much confidence in it. I drove 45 minutes 3 times to get it to work. It is very hot and I am trying to stay positive but its getting more difficult. I called Generac 3 times and the customer service reps were nice but none could tell me why I was having these issues. Its not easy to return as the unit is heavy and I have to stuff it in a car. I also am trying to work during this time as well as get all the damages to my home repaired. I thought Generac would be a good brand and perhaps I just got two bad apples in a row. I did not overload the unit and used strong extension cords. I dont have time to return it again as I have other things to do as a result of the hurricane.
