This product had all i needed for what i needed it for .

Dealer was great (electric generator direct). i would have given this item 5 stars but pull cord did not work correctly after 5 to 6 pulls . i had to get it fixed (for free) but little bit of a pain ,but runs all that i need to run ,best part is its on wheels so i can take it any where .

Gets the job done

Great quality for those times of need. Electric start is great for the wives and the whole machine is pretty manageable. Bought Generac for the reputation of quality and support. The gas tank could be designed better to deal with spills. Otherwise its a great generator.

GP8000E

I bought this generator after my old one (not a Generac) quit. I always shut off the fuel and let the carburetor run out of fuel. I also use Seafoam in the gas. This helps to stabilize the fuel and keeps the jets clean. I purchased a product called Generlink that fits behind my electric meter and allows me to plug the generator directly into the meter. I also use a solar power battery tender to keep the battery charged. I am very happy with how this generator performs.

Just runs and runs

I'm no Nor Cal and have been experiencing the PG&E Power Safety Shutoff. My neighbor had one of these 8000's and I was fortunate enough to find one as well. Electrician came and wired it into my panel and wow...my whole house just runs like it's on PG&E. Some little weird stuff to get used to, like when the well kicks on, the LED lights in the kitchen flicker for a second but no big deal. Hot showers (propane hot water heater), lights, etc. I go into a room and turn on the light...just like normal. Only complaint is it's loud so getting it away from the house is important but we just close up the windows and deal with a bit of a hum to have power.

Saved the Week!

I live in the Sierra foothills of California. We recently had a series of power shut-offs by the electric company in order to avoid wild fires. This cool generator allowed us to run our home like we had electricity (with the exception of dishwasher and washer/dryer - which I could live without). My only negative comment is that the handles are not as handy as could be. Other than that I have no complaints.

Ready in case of need.

Fires right up and hardly needs to be choked. The airless wheels make it easy to maneuver. The handle that raises/folds also makes it easy to move. Haven't had to use it for a power outage...yet, but have tested it on power tools and it ran them without any problems

Finally was able to use my GP17500e

I purchased this generator new approximately 5 years ago. I left an initial impression review at that time. Other than monthly test runs, I have not had to use it. Last night it was finally used to provide power for the entire house. It worked flawlessly. It was 28 degF. When I started the generator and it ran continuously for 16 hours with no shutdown. Temps got to a low of 6 degF. It’s one thing to lose power in the summer. Losing power when it is in the single digits is an altogether different scenario. Our house has baseboard electric heat that had to work in some rooms not heated by the woodstove. In conclusion, and as a follow up,after five years it did exactly what is what purchased for.

Runs when you need it!!

Bought this to replace an older one I gave to my son, ran like a champ for years. The new one was purchased because of the Deracho that went through our area Benton Co. Iowa, August 10, 2020. Finally found one 75 miles away in Cedar Falls. First oil change 41hrs, second change at 109 hrs. The unit ran continuous for 187 hrs. straight! One pull start every time. The unit ran our 28,00 sq. ft. home, AC, frig, freezer, lights etc. Excellent piece of equipment and reliable! Never been happier. Thanks, Lee

Worked perfectly when we had a power outage on Christmas Day.

We bought this generator because of 3 day power outage we suffered through this past summer. We lost power on Christmas Day and the generator did all we expected and more. It ran 2 refrigerators, stand up freezer, and furnace. We had heat, tv, lights, garage door opener ,coffee maker and everything else we needed. Ran for over 12 hours on a tank of gas. I would recommend this product to anyone, just make sure you have the correct size for you needs.

Poor Quality, not recommended

Very poor. Bought GP6500 just after Helene last year. Took 2 days and a lot of energy (it gave me a good workout pulling the starter) to get it to start. I tried leaving a review then at Generac's website using the link they provided, that didn't work either. I bought another generator, better quality, different brand, for reliability.
