[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love my Kitchen Aid stand mixer. Love the black. Looks great on my counter and that makes it handy to use often. Besides making cakes and frosting, have also used to mix a meat loaf, meatballs, cinnamon raisin sourdough bread, and shred chicken. Oh and whipped mashed potatoes. Nice to put the bowls and paddles and dough hook in the dishwasher for easy cleanup.

All of my life I used hand mixers, but now I'm 55 and I'm venturing out into pasta dough. Doing that at my age with a hand mixer was killing my hands. Now the KitchenAid does everything for me. And it looks pretty on my counter--and surprisingly fits under my upper cabinets! I use it for everything including using the paddle attachment to shred cooked chicken breasts perfectly. If you have never had one but like to bake a lot, I'd say pull the trigger and buy one. Call it a kitchen investment. You're worth it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the color. I have had 2 5.5 left mixers. The motor isn't strong enough. To mix PFS bread. It is for cake mix. The first one I returned. The second one is almost 2 months old and the motor is getting sluggish.

Negative stars! Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing because the same thing happened to me. First one we bought died after one revolution. We returned it for an exchange second one did the exact same thing. This is not a cheap or easy item to lug back-and-forth to the store. Sam should not be selling this particular item given how many people have commented that their mixer died on arrival. It makes me lose trust in Sam's and the quality of their merchandise. Buyer beware!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality just isn't there anymore. I had my fist kitchen aid 25 years ago and it's amazing. My husband got me a new one for the color, which I love the blue velvet color but the quality stinks. The motor is spotty, & inconsistent. The bowl is not as deep as my original even though it's 1/2 quart larger, and flings stuff out of the bowl. The paddle doesn't fit right and doesn't get the bottom. I'm just not happy with it. I'm probably going to pull my old one back out. Thankfully I didn't get rid of it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My previous KitchenAid Mixer was a Professional 5 Plus and it was a disappointment. The motor seemed to struggle when it was kneading a single load of bread and the whip attachment didn't whip egg whites well at all. But far more disappointing was the fact that the powder coating on the attachments started to chip off. This was NOT the mixer that the family relied on previously; my mom swore by KitchenAid and her unit was a real workhorse. So, I really expected to move to another brand based on my disappointment with the unit I had purchased. However, this new model that I has considerably improved my opinion of KitchenAid. It works smoothly when kneading bread and the smaller bowl and whip works very well with any small amount of fluid, including egg whites. The motor seems to be more heavy duty than what was installed in my previous mixer. So far, I am very pleased with this unit. Time will tell.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm honestly surprised at how loud the motor is and how quickly is gets hot when mixing bread dough according to the instructions. I think the unit is beautiful and it works well in other aspects, but it doesn't tolerate bread dough as well as my old one.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I always need reliable equipment for my regular sourdough baking and daily kitchen prep, this KitchenAid ended up being more of a hurdle than a help. The machine itself is incredibly heavy, making it an absolute chore to move or adjust on the counter. ​My biggest complaint is how rigid and stiff all the moving parts are. Getting the bowl to properly lock into the support arms is a constant struggle that requires far too much force every single time. On top of that, the top mechanism doesn't lift smoothly and feels stuck half the time. When you are frequently mixing heavy doughs, you need an appliance that operates seamlessly. Fighting with stiff, clunky hardware just to get the bowl attached or the top lifted simply isn't worth the frustration. ​Pros: ​Heavy-duty build quality ​Cons: ​Unnecessarily heavy to move around ​Bowl is extremely difficult to snap into the arms ​Top mechanism is stubborn and hard to lift

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My old Kitchenaid mixer was starting to fail after about 40 years. My budget finally allowed me to purchase a new one, on sale. In all honesty, I probably should have rated it 3 stars, but I'm hoping I will learn to like it more. It is much heavier than my old one and is a bit too tall to fit up under my kitchen cabinets, so I have to pick it up and move it to the counter every time I want to use it. I don't like that I can't use my bowl scraper while it is running like I did with the old one. The whisk doesn't go all the way to the dime like the adjustment instructions described, but it can't be adjusted any further to make it do so. Probably should have returned the unit, but it is just too heavy. Again, I hope with time I will learn to like it and maybe I will make or buy some type of table to put it on.
