When they work they work good. The app is slow. Cameras went out but the replaced the nvr. Finally had the cameras replaced and it worked for a week then their refurbished nvr hard drive died. They won't fix it because now it is out of warranty even though the original issue happened way before it expired. They gave me a bad nvr that I only had a week and they won't replace it. Returns are a nightmare because you have to ship your hardware back and wait for them to get it, repair, then send back. Now they won't replace it after taking 6 weeks to send me cameras. Didn't waste your money.

bought night owl security system a few years ago i have had not but problems with the dvr/nvr for years company warranted out 3 times waiting on 4 dvr/nvr only lasting for a month on each return unit.. I would not buy any Night owl product!!!

We liked the other productswe have from Night Owl and wanted the security cameras to have the same quality and durability as the doorbell. Our electrician was able to use all six cameras with the sixty feet of wire included, and within a half day, all cameras were live and monitoring our property. We especiallylike that these are motion-detected and light up when activated. The hub DVR box controls the cameras, and were placed on a shelf in my husband's office. I like to have the availabilityof seeing all cameras live on my Iphone when I am at work. This enables me to see any delivery man that comes to our door,as well as any golfer who loes a strayball and comes onto our property to retrieve it. With Night Owl products, I know we are safe and secure, so that is a win-win for me!

Finally, I can keep alerted of the cameras pick up any movement. The best part is that I can be sent a real time alert, that also has built in spotlights and scare off the critters. The quality is smashing, clear picture and such a huge convenience to the house. I was even fortunate enough to catch someone trying to steal a package off my porch. They saw the cameras and put the package back on the porch, it was awesome! I highly recommend this for anyone needing a little extra security. I plan on buying this for my dad for Christmas.

So now we don't have to worry about our cameras not working. This setup has excellent night vision. I was really impressed with the camera quality. I absolutely love that they have an app for your phone. Makes us all feel really secure living out in the country. If you're on the fence about this system I PROMISE you won't regret it!! Definitely worth the piece of mind.

After 3 years of owning the Q-See security camera system, I am finally tossing it in the trash after buying a Night Qwl DP2-161-4L system. Q-See was impossible to set up, could never get it connected to my internet, never could view the cameras on my t.v., and customer service was non-existent. I wasted hours trying to get it working correctly. This past October I bought a new Q-See DVR and it never worked properly and I am still waiting on an e-mail message that I sent them 3 weeks ago. I am done with that company. Two nights ago I bought the Night Owl DP2-161-4L and tonight I decided to try setting it up and it was basically flawless. I followed the layout work instructions, downloaded the Night Owl Protect app to my S8 phone, scanned the DVR code, and it set itself up on my phone fairly easy. The only setback that I had is I completed the firmware update and I had to work through a few extra steps to get my phone set back up. Once I completed this I had to access the visual on my t.v. and go to DVR menu, Maintain, System, and select "Reset Default". Once this was done, the system reset itself. I then logged into my account and reset all the choices that I made before the firmware update. I then went to my phone app and re-scanned my DVR, and the system reset itself and I had connectivity again. I can hardly believe how easy the Night Owl system is compared to Q-See. Never again, I am staying with Night Owl. Thanks!

Itnwas very easy to set up and the cameras have the clearest pictures and the spotlight is so bright by the second night we knew who or what was messing around our yard . It wasnt the monsters my kids thought it was . The spotlight blinded the whole little family of racoons . That was making so much noise . The pictures are so clear . This is so easy to set and Like that alarms are.sent straight to my phone and I can see what is happening at my home when Im not there

The clear view of the recording at night is great!!! I love how the spot light comes on when there is movement on the camera! The app we downloaded for our phones works perfect also! We get alerts when we are not home! Which i love so i know my packages are there when I am expecting something especially with all our packages coming in for Christmas!!! I HIGHLY recommend these! The quality of the cameras is great! They are nice and feel/look great.

We love the clarity and that we are able to use thru wifi directly to our television as well as on our phones. They also track people as they come into view so you are able to monitor quickly. The dvr also has a 1 tb hard drive so it holds a ton of video for you to keep on hand just in case anything needs to be watched. As I said before such a great device and I would definitely recommend to all in need of a great Surveillance system!
