With running a business from home and constantly receiving packages, I was becoming concerned with items going missing. This so far has worked great. I like the fact that it has night vision. Not blurry night vision like some security systems, this is clear. I can see what is actually out there. So far we've seen many deer and racoons, lol which I enjoy seeing. The system itself was pretty easy to install, my husband did it in an afternoon. I was able to sync my smartphone with it with ease. I also have it linked t my PC, which is nice. I can now see the UPS driver "up close and personal" when he's dropping off my packages. Totally clear images which is great. While they state these are weather resistant, we placed these under covered areas on the front porch,patio and under the eaves. We were a little intimidated at first when we opened the box, and saw all that is involved to installing these. But like I stated above. It was pretty easy and my hubby had it done in an afternoon.

This is my husband's and I first ever camera for ho e security either outdoor or indoor. 12 Channel 4K DVR with 1 TB HDD and 4 x 4K Wired Light Cameras is the system that we set up. It is most definitely not as hard as we made it to set up. The fact is him and I can't even make a ham sandwich together LoL. Anyways it's a pretty cool system. Almost easy to install (depending on who you have help you), very easy to use after installation, and quite cool. I mostly use it to watch the wildlife in my yard at night or daytime and it's quite easy....actually I spend far too much time wating what these cameras show me. And I know it's probably not relevant but my favorite things to watch on the dvr is this Coopers Hawk I named Nancy and these two Great Horned Owls (no names for them!) Who are natural enemies. I love the detail and colors of the videos from the dvr I get to watch of what goes on and is happening on my property. And it's so easy to access the cameras feed!

Not so good...the cables! It was not difficult to install. My husband and I installed all the cameras by our self, but all those cables where a hassle. The hard work pays off!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my very first security camera system, so keep that in mind. I don't know how much of these things are common in other products. I really like these cameras. Out of the box, everything is labeled very nicely. Wires have tags that tell you where they plug into, and the install directions are explained very clearly. So, first impressions are inviting. I plugged everything in my room just to check if everything worked, and to check recorder box. Once it all checked out, I was able to install the cameras outside. The wires were all 60 feet long which for my house was plenty. They sell extended wires on their site which is cool. Once I was able to really settle everything in place, I was able to get a good understanding of the software on both the box/monitor and the app on my phone. The UI on the monitor was bland, but very straight forward. That's fine because I care more about the ease of use than I do on how pretty it looks. The menus were straight forward and very intuitive to navigate. The resolution is 4k in the sense that the resolution size is 4k, but the actual quality of the image is just OK. It's a security camera... I'm not filming a blockbuster on it. Facial recognition is awesome, and at least the clarity is great. You can play with exposure and contrast, but they don't drastically change for the better. These cameras are leagues far above average securities cameras though so don't think that they're terrible or anything. The app is very good, and the notifications are great because you can change the sensitivity of what wakes up the camera. Which is great, because you can make it pretty relaxed or else you'll get notified whenever a leaf passes in view. I really do like the cameras, and I really do like my decision to get them.

I use to have an Arlo system, but got tired of having to change the batteries and faced some connectivity issues. Still like Arlo, but really wanted a quality CCTV system for added security. Read the reviews and took a friends suggestion. Glad I went with night owl. Had the system setup in a couple hours and it has been working flawlessly.

I got tired of relying on my internet connection to be able to save and stream my properties video feed. This is all on a 1TB hard drive and honestly it’s a very easy setup. Everything is wired. Each camera comes with ample length to run a connection to different areas of your house or property. So far the Apple app it pretty good. I have very fast internet so my stream is perfect remotely. I love the clarity and the spot light motion sensor. It makes getting a clear shot at night easy. So far I am loving this system and might upgrade for other cameras.

The 60 foot cords fit hardwiring that are included were plenty for our application, but longer cords are available as well. The camera instillation was quick as we were able to run the wires outside on the walls. We do have previous experience, so that should be stated. Directions for in wall running of the cords were also included and quite thorough. Where these cameras really shine is the picture quality. Through the app you can check in from anywhere with wifi and see as if you were there. Less than 5 second lag time and alert notifications are helpful. There is no need for monthly plans and fees with the included hard drive. The human detection settings work well, but other things still occasionally trip the light. Overall it’s a great product and was exactly what we needed for keeping an eye remotely on our property.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought the 6 camera's to help make my family feel safe. The night owl security system is so easy to install. You need at least 2 people when setting up the camera's. That way you not running back and forward making sure to get the right angle. Easy to read instructions and also have a website or number to call if you are having trouble. Love that I can add up to six more cameras.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This night owl system is amazing I just finished installing it and the install went very easy it’s a super simple setup even with 12 channels the wiring is the hardest part and that’s all plug and play I love the features the massive hard drive and the camera resolution is great I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great product at a great price point

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the hardwire better than the Wi-Fi. My Wi-Fi lags really bad. All of the camera being on it made it worse. Now they all are pretty much in real time. I like that I do not have to worry about the batteries going dead. Seeing the images at night as clear as they can be. Great security system with no monthly service fee.
