Assembling Swing set #90797

We recently purchased a double slide swing set #90797 for our grandchildren and overall we (and they) are very pleased. Two strong recommendations I would make to Lifetime are to label the major poles with the part numbers so they can be readily identified, and to more clearly specify in the directions which way the parts should be oriented during assembly. One step which caused us a particular problem were the upright support poles for the playhouse. They must be assembled with the two small tapping screw holes facing each other. It is easy to assemble them facing the wrong direction because the directions are not clear. We caught the mistake after assembling the deck and realized the parts would not align. We had to detach and reattach them. We do recommend this set, but suggest that Lifetime make these two corrections.

So many fun features!

We purchased this playset a little over a year ago, and we have loved every minute of it. Here are some of my favorite features. Room to swing: My little kids are too short to do much with the trapeze swing, so we have the two regular swings and a baby swing up all at once. I was worried that the swings would be too close together and we would have bumping issues, but there’s plenty of room for all three of my kids to swing at the same time. Propeller swing: One of my very favorite features! When my 1-year-old wasn’t big enough to climb up to the clubhouse platform, she could play on the propeller swing by herself, and I didn’t worry about her since it’s so close to the ground. The bigger kids love this one too. They pile on and ask a parent to swing them back and forth (similar to a tire swing), or they use it as a “hang out” spot. Small footprint: We picked this playset over other playsets by Lifetime because our backyard is skinny. This one fits nicely with plenty of room around it, and I think that it has more fun features than some of the playsets with larger footprints. Slanted metal ladder: I like this ladder because it is easy for little ones to climb up. My 1 ½ year old can now do it herself. There are other more challenging ways for the bigger kids to climb up, like the rock wall and the cargo net, but this simple ladder is the one that’s used most often at our house. Sturdy: When we’d had our playset for only a few months, a tornado touched down in a nearby town, and our neighborhood experienced extremely high winds. Garbage cans, house siding, fences and trampolines were flying through the air but this playset didn’t budge, even without being cemented into the ground. We are looking forward to years and years of fun on this Lifetime clubhouse playset!

Welcome retreat for after school.

Purchased for grandchildren 5+ years ago. They are all in grade school now, and like to head out in their backyard when they get home from school. The 2 girls like to swing and get on the 3-way underneath to play, and the 2 boys are climbing and performing wild acrobats. In the summer they enjoy running a waterhose on the slide (to keep it cool) and racing up and down. So far, it has performed remarkably well, although I noticed the ropes are beginning to wear. I was tired of buying junk for Christmas and birthdays for the four, so one year I decided to purchase this as a Christmas and Birthday presents for them all. It has been something they could enjoy again and again, year after year.

AWESOME!!

This swing set is more than what we were expecting, it's very sturdy and kids are loving it! It took my husband (contractor) and my older kids (18,14,13) 8 hrs. to put together, holes for roof were not to size so we did have to pre drill for ease of installation. It was worth it!

13 years and still in perfect condition!

We found this swing set for 13 years now bought it directly from Lifetime online we have been extremely satisfied with this product it is basically flawless we live in San Antonio Texas Miss wings this swingset has moved three times and we used all of the same hardware to reassemble it all three times. We will soon be making purchases to replace just the swings, the chalkboard, binoculars and the climbing rope so it'll be like new again. As we are now grandparents I intend to buy Lifetime swing sets when all of my children become homeowners so that my grandkids will grow up enjoying Lifetime swing sets in their childhood as well. The best purchase I've ever made, no regrets!

Great looking, heavy duty playset

This is a very sturdy and good looking playset that blends in nicely with natural surroundings. Shipment arrived in appr. 1 week in well constructed crate. All boxes and bags containing assembly hardware are clearly labeled. The instruction manual is very well written and easy to follow, as the assembly hardware is packaged in separate, labeled bags for each of the 7 sections in the manual (i.e. no hunting for bolts or other small parts). The hardest parts to assemble are the cargo net (lots of tension on the ropes) and the roof (holes in the plastic don't seem to align perfectly with the holes in the roof trusses, requiring some elbow grease). I assembled the set by myself in about 9 hours, including breaking apart the shipping crate and cleanup. The only room for "improvement" I can suggest is for LifeTime to ship the owner's manual inside a waterproof bag (I know, seems trivial). Although I had wrapped the crate in tarp, it was the only thing that got soaked after a downpoor, making the pages stick together.

Excellent and versatile!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We purchased the Double Slide Deluxe Playset and we absolutely love it! It was really easy to assemble with 1.5 adults over a couple of days. It's very high quality and our kids are having a blast with it! We know we'll enjoy it for years to come!

Great outdoor play set!

I bought this for my grandson. My daughter and son-in-law assembled in about 7 hours. Their suggestions for improving the assembly process include: (1) labeling of the pieces - only pictures are provided in the instructions, so you have to guess which pieces they are referring to, (2) better alignment of the pre-drilled holes (some were very difficult to align - a few resulted in having to drill new holes). (3) include some extra hardware - a few of the screws snapped - and there weren't any extra to use. The instructions were easy to follow. The materials are of high quality. This is a very nice play set that should hold up against the weather elements over time!

Maintenance-free fun for years

We bought the swingset when our boys were three and six years old. They are eight and 11 now, and the swingset has gotten them through their childhood years. And it still looks nearly new. I am on the website now many years later to re-order a replacement rope cargo net which has disintegrated over time. Every other part of this swingset is solid and has held up very well to snow, sun and rain. My boys spent many hours outside playing on the swing set, with neighborhood friends and with each other. We have other neighbors with wooden swing sets- their sets have required frequent maintenance, including replacement of parts and staining. The second story clubhouse is still a favorite hangout spot today. Swing heights adjust easily. Highly recommend this set.

Two months in, built like a truck

My family joked during the last severe Texas storm that we should have parked our cars underneath the playset for protection. It's built like a tank. Lots of thought and detail, like the impressions in the underside of the roof (for strength, I assume) are stars. Pretty great fit and finish - no obvious gaps, good paint job, etc. My only "complaint" is it took about three afternoons to put together. We've only had it a couple of months, so longevity is TBD, but we're quite happy and would recommend it so far.
