I bought this 5.5 Bowl-Lift (Mineral Water) from Sam’s Club. It sounds great and did great when I made Peanut Butter cookies. I took a chance making the cookies after a sharp metal fragment fell from the planetary when testing it first. Could have been life threatening. The fragment was painted on one side so I thought that it was from around the shaft that wasn’t sanded down before assembly. Manufacture’s error. The fragment was aluminum, broke in half when bent. Also, the 3 quart bowl and the combi-whip doesn’t work together. The whip hits the bowl and I don’t want to keep adjusting the bowl-lift adjustment screw for it because the 5.5 bowl and attachments works fine.

This stand mixer has such a high capacity and more power that I wish I had upgraded before. I have started doubling most of my dough and cookie batches to keep some in the freezer for quick meals and snacks. The bowl lift is able to power through with twice the power without any wobble when kneading doughs. The mixer comes with the large 5.5qt bowl and a smaller 3qt bowl for smaller batches in a quality stainless steel that you expect from Kitchen Aid. This mixer is the workhorse of my kitchen and Looks elegant on my counters. If you bake a lot this is the stand mixer that is for you, and will keep up with anything you can throw at it.

I had been using a different brand stand mixer for years and had no idea what I was missing out on or how much better the KitchenAid brand is. It’s like going from Chevy to a Rolls Royce; there’s just no comparison in the quality. This thing is a power horse and can handle the thickest dough without slowing down at all. I whipped up a batch of whipped cream almost as quickly as opening a container of store bought stuff, and it tasted so much better. I joined a FB group for sharing KitchenAid mixer recipes and found so many things I can’t wait to try…I haven’t been this excited about cooking in years! I love the blue color of this mixer; it’s a cheerful, robin egg blue and brightens up my kitchen. I wasn’t sure if I would like how the bowl raises/lowers instead of having a tilt head, but I found I like it even better. I think it makes the mixer feel more sturdy and I can see inside the bowl better. I can’t wait to start buying some attachments for it and was shocked to see just how many different options there are. From pasta, to meat, to ice cream - you can do almost anything with this mixer! The attachments seem like half the fun and my Christmas list will probably never be without one from now on. If you’ve been thinking about investing in a KitchenAid stand mixer, stop thinking and just do it! Nothing else even comes close and I wish I had gotten one years ago.

I no longer have flour clouds in my kitchen while I’m working. And most of the old attachments work with the new mixer. I couldn’t ask for a better appliance in my kitchen.

I originally had used the tilt head and I prefer how much easier it is to access the bowl with a tilt head. But I’m trying to get used to the lift head and I wanted a stronger power motor! The matte black is beautiful. It scratches easily. I accidentally scratched my 30 minutes after taking it out of the box with the bowl…oops! So far it is working well but I wish the attachments were so expensive. I’m also struggling to find attachments and extra bowls for my size.

I have already used this make a variety of things, including breakfast foods, desserts and even bought the Kitchen Aid Grain Mill attachment and have milled my own fresh flour from wheat berries, which was excellent! My sister saw how great it worked and bought a Kitchen Aid mixer for herself as well! Would highly recommend.
