We just built two Backyard Discovery structures and we absolutely love them! The instructions were very clear for both, especially the emphasis on critical steps that would terribly difficult later on if missed. Some of the online reviewers, who praised your products and were quite detailed, recommended treating all of the pieces before assembly. We did so. Yes, it added some time to the project. But we want this to last for a very long time and consider that extra investment of our time to be worth it. I am not sure if you want to mention such an undertaking or not. Perhaps if you had been doing some studies and could offer some insight? In the meantime, we'll have to see how well Olympic Transparent Waterguard works over the years.

We purchased our Cordova 14X10 Gazeebo in July and had it installed on our pool deck on four foot deep concrete footers. One of the main reasons we went with Backyard Discovery was the ability for the structure to withstand heavy winds. I live in the Tampa area and we just went through Hurricane Milton last night. I had major concerns about the metal roof and when I woke up this morning, the entire structure was completely intact. Apart from the being a beautiful structure, it’s amazing to see that it withstood 90 mph gusts and sustained winds of 75 mph for several hours. If you want a well built and beautiful pavilion, I’d highly recommend Backyard Discovery. We couldn’t be more pleased.

We purchased this gazebo a few months ago and we are very happy with it. Everything was included that we needed to erect it. The lumber was pre-cut to the correct dimensions and the holes were all pre-drilled. Our sons helped us build it on a Saturday and we were finished by mid-afternoon. The only thing we didn't realize until after we purchased it was that we were strongly encouraged to apply a sealer to all the lumber before erecting it. While that required a little extra prep time, we're glad we did it. Other than that, everything was as we expected.

Last year I saw a display of the Gazebo 14 x 10 "Cordova" in a store and wanted one. I was told they were sold out so I tried online direct to Backyard Discovery. I was told that they were back ordered so I put my name on a list and was thrilled when I was called and told it would ship in about 3 weeks. My husband and I decided to wait on having the gazebo assembled because after taking down our 16 year old pergola we thought it deserved a new patio to stand on. We thought at first it would be a simple replacement project but "no" we decided to get a contractor out to re do the patio and stone surface and the landscaping which we plan on finishing this Spring. After the patio was installed in August we had a company come out and put the gazebo together. It was a company that was referred by Backyard Discovery for our area. They did a fantastic job, we were so pleased. The gazebo went through the winter months with no issues, no movement so now we are trying to get ready to plant some new shrubs and flowers this Spring season. We love our new patio with our Cordova gazebo. Sorry my picture doesn't have the flowers and landscaping finished but we highly recommend your product.

I purchased and built a 16x12 Barrington Gazebo this past summer and we have absolutely loved it! I would say that everyday that we had good weather, we were under it. We thought that even in a light rain with no wind, we could hang out, but unfortunately, without anything catching the rain dripping off the roof, it would hit the concrete and splatter back under the gazebo, making the practical usable area very small under the gazebo. Backyard Discovery does not offer a gutter system for their gazebos, and I really didn't like the look of the offerings from some of the other gazebo manufacturers out there. So, I designed my own. It was relatively simple, but would have been easier had I done it when first building the unit. First, I removed the trim pieces around the outside of the roof. Then I added 4" flashing under the roof panels, hanging down the facial board about 3". I had purchased steel J channel (brown, nearly the same color as the supplied trim), which I attached under the flashing with a stainless steel screw through the flashing and J channel into the facial board. I had to cut, bend, rivet, and caulk the corners of the J channel. I also had to make sure there was a slight slope from corner to corner so the water would flow correctly. On the lowest corner (opposite corner being the highest), I simply channeled the water out into the yard, instead of a downspout. Although a downspout would work also. Then I reinstalled the original trim with it also handing into the J channel. It really turned out great, looks great, and works perfectly. It handles light to medium rains easily, and allow us to hang out under the gazebo and stay dry. I think it would be great if Backyard Discovery would include this with the gazebo originally, or as an option. But until then, this is a great DIY for it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Backyard Discovery Cordova Gazebo completely transformed our deck into a beautiful, comfortable and desirable outdoor oasis. Now our deck is covered and protected from the elements! This season, we have been able to utilize our deck every day. The gazebo has added an additional room to our home for the warmer months. We couldn’t be happier with our purchase.

We purchased this about a month ago. My husband & I (in our 70’s) worked for a couple wks between rain(&snow) to build the pieces. Our boys came last Sunday & in an hour, put the roof panels on! Beautiful gazebo & very well-built. Every thing fit perfectly!!

We purchased our Cordova Gazebo almost a year ago and it truly has sustained our Colorado winds, our most recent winter heavy snow. Even our most recent heavy rains without any problems at all. It was absolutely one of our better purchases and wish we had purchased it sooner. My husband Rick, our son and our neighbor all helped with putting the roof on as it did need 3 people. The lower part of 4 posts and sides my husband pretty much did it himself with an extra ladder. He’s very creative! So the roof was the part that did require the assistance of a few more hands. We enjoy using our new outdoor space for many outside events in our yard day or night. It looks beautiful. We did hang lights for sitting outside in our cool Colorado evenings. My husband and I enjoy just sitting under it in the morning drinking our coffee. My sister and her husband were so impressed with our Gazebo that they are ordering one for themselves. So we would highly recommend this purchase to anyone considering purchasing or having one built. It is a great price, quality is 5 star.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We are enjoying our gazebo very much! My husband and I were able to assemble it over the course of a weekend. We did need a third person to help with one part of the wood assembly and when we had to raise the roof pieces. The wood foundation was a pretty simple and easy install. The roof was a bit harder - directions could have been a little clearer. Overall construction is solid.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very satisfied with the quality. Don’t be intimidated. All parts are very well marked and organized. My husband put it all together by himself. Only needed a second pair of hands at the very end to put on patio. Would buy again and again. Great price!
