Great picture

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] TV has a pretty good tuner in it if you are looking into picking up many OTA stations. The remote and AI interface provide a great deal of functionality however, response time in navigating between apps, channels, etc. is slow. The television has a nice picture but I don’t feel like it’s a full conversion to 4k. It looks a little better than 1080i but not quite 4k.

Excellent value!

This is an excellent tv for the price. It’s HUGE! Picture is great, considering it is not QLED OR OLED. I’m sure paying between 50%-300% more for either of those technologies would give a little better performance, but in my opinion, not enough better to justify the additional cost. This 86” tv uses a faster processor than the smaller TVs in the 8000 series. The remote is well thought out and easy to use, but could use backlighting. The only other minor issue I have had is reflections from room lighting, but overall a great TV for the money.

After a month or so I discovered that LG no longer allows SiriusXM Radio - bummer. Then when I call for tech. service, I get someone from a foreign country that I can hardly understand. The user manual has very little information as to how to operate the remote and get the TV to do what you want it to do.. I guess you just think that everyone is a techie.

Issues From Day 1

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The TV keeps reverting to “STORE” mode” which continually shows the Brand and Model number in boxes on the screen. This box moves randomly to different places on the screen which interrupts normal viewing. Also, I called LG at 6:30PM to discuss this unresolved (already called once). Couldn’t understand the Representative so I asked for a supervisor—he hung up on me—probably because one of the questions on the LG survey asked if the rep could be clearly understood. When I called back a different rep told me all supervisors had gone home but he would have one to call me back. Supervisor NEVER called back and problem with TV still exists.

I’m not sure if this will last longer than that because it’s a budget TV for me . We shall see. Other than that I really like this TV because of the apps and the internet features.

The TV is not bad for the price, although we are experiencing some screen blooming and ghosting. We have tried to mitigate this by reducing the backlight/brightness etc, but it's still visible on darker backgrounds. We would've given a five star rating if not for this issue.

Turns ON by itself!

LG wanted a quick review but I’m a believer in waiting a while before reviewing. Glad I did! We purchased the LG TV as a family Christmas gift 2023. It is now the end of February 2024. The TV has turned itself “ON” without anyone around! We’ve counted 7 times so far and 3 have been during the night! The last thing I want to do is wake up at 3am….to go shut off the TV! We have 2 other LG sets and didn’t have this problem.

Hi there, we know that it can be weird to have the TV do as it wants and turn on randomly. No worries, there aren't any LG ghosts in your house! Many HDMI devices have a CEC (Simplink) function, enabling power control between products. When active, the TV will power on when a connected HDMI device is activated or is in standby mode for automatic updating. This feature will also need to be disabled in the connected HDMI device. ~Tanisha
