The floss itself is actually flat so it glides between teeth easily but you can trim it and pull up gunk from between teeth. Holds up pretty well to 15-20 flosses. I love the ones with the handles, so much easier to use.

However, when flossing in the back of my mouth, the floss kept breaking. I will say, the floss pics are so much easier than the regular string floss. For someone who doesn't floss as much as they probably should, it would definitely encourage me to increase the habit because of how easy it is to use.
