The floss itself is actually flat so it glides between teeth easily but you can trim it and pull up gunk from between teeth. Holds up pretty well to 15-20 flosses. I love the ones with the handles, so much easier to use.

However, when flossing in the back of my mouth, the floss kept breaking. I will say, the floss pics are so much easier than the regular string floss.
