I went from a pillow top to GhostBed and am quite pleased. The mattress is harder than I expected at first, but as you settle into a sleeping position you do sink in just a little into the memory foam. The only thing I didn't realize with this mattress is how close to the ground it is without a box spring.

So far, so good! We have had our Ghost Bed for about three weeks now, and it is extremely comfortable. There was a slight smell of plastic when we opened the packaging and the mattress started to expand. This lasted only about 45 minutes, and then there was no smell of any kind. The mattress expands very quickly. Be aware that the box the mattress comes in weighs about 85 pounds, so although the box is smaller than you'd expect, it will take two people to move it inside. The foundation weighs about 65 pounds and is shipped separately. Also, this is a very thick mattress, so you may be farther off the floor than you have been accustomed. This is a medium-firm mattress - not hard, but certainly not "squishy" at all.

Everything was great until a few weeks ago when the platform started making a terrible creaking sounds every time you get into bed. That was one of the reasons I made the switch to this platform, I was tired of a traditional creaking wood box spring.

After a lot of research and reading MANY online reviews, we decided to order the ghost bed foundation to replace a creaky old wooden bed frame. At first we were thrilled. It was comfortable, felt sturdy, and most importantly of all, it was completely silent! Alas, after just a week the squeaks and creaks started up. Very quickly it got increasingly worse. After two weeks it was creaking worse than the frame it was meant to replace. I tried tightening everything, but that only helped a little, and only temporarily. Eventually I took the whole thing apart and put it back together again and made sure everything was correct and tight. It was silent again! But after another couple of weeks the creaking started back up. Took it apart and put it back together one more time, but neither of us can even roll over at night now without making a whole racket. I am going to try rebuilding it one more time with locking washers, but I don't have high hopes at this point. Unfortunately the bed frames don't come with the sleep trial, and there are no refunds or returns. Hoping the third rebuild is the charm, but it seems we might just be stuck with a new, more expensive creaky bed. :/

It was very time consuming to have to drill all those screws into the boards, not to mention worrying about correct spacing vs where the supports were on the bed frame. Made for an interesting afternoon. Now that the support is on the bed frame and we have been sleeping on it for a couple of weeks, I LOVE it! It is quiet and sturdy. We ordered 2 GhostBed All-in-One XL Twin foundations to turn our XL twin mattresses into a split king. The foundations are easy to put together and they look great sitting side by side. So much more simple than having a metal frame and box springs and the legs will not harm the floor like metal frames some times do. We are very satisfied with our purchase.

It arrived a couple of days after my mattress, but all in a timely manner. The assembly was fairly simple. It provides excellent support for my mattress. I like the appearance of it as well, I opted to go with no frame and it has worked put really well. I may change my mind in the future, the presentation of it now is sufficient until I find the perfect fit for me.

The KD foundation is firm and sturdy which is exactly what you want under a mattress. The box it came in was extremely manageable compared to a traditional king size boxspring. I was easily able to carry it up a flight of stairs and into the bedroom for assembly. I've seen some complaints about the wood being dirty and splitting etc., but does it really matter? The foundation is rock solid once fully assembled, and after putting the cover on it, you can't even see the materials. I have no complaints and the cover matches our Ghostbed Luxe nicely. A word of advice, use a drill to put this thing together. The battery for my drill was dead and I was too lazy to wait for it to charge so I used a regular phillips screwdriver. It was doable, but I ended up with some pretty nasty blisters. Charge your drill.

This foundation is working really well for a 6'6 15 yard old boy that weighs about 265. He is already a big guy and as a child you love to flop down or even jump on your bed be silly.NO other bed has made the cut but this one and not only is my wallet happy but it makes me as a mother feel better that I could buy such a bed to provide and trust to keep my child comfortable. I really love how they also send a pcs of sturdy material to hide the frame just made the bed frame look that much more nice in the room. I can also get my vacuum under it comfortably and he has a couple boxes stored under said Bed frame. Thank you Ghostbed for this invention> Tall people and parents thank you !

I bought my ghostbed and two pillows back in October and I couldn't be happier with it! Every night, I get into bed and just sigh with contenment. I LOVE MY BED! I decided to get the boxspring, too, since the bed was sitting a little too low to the ground. It was pretty easy to assemble and I did it on my own. Now my bedroom is the perfect haven for restful night's sleep!
