After Katrina in south Mississippi we were without power and water for 23 days. It was 105 degrees for several days. Miserable. Since then every time a storm would move into the Gulf my tension levels would go off the charts. We decided to fix the problem. In the fall of 2016 we installed a Generac 22kw propane fueled generator. Within 4 months we have lost power 5 times due to tornadoes and storms. The last outage the generator ran 10 hours straight with no problems. We were the only house in our area with lights. It was awesome! We don't worry about power failures anymore. We love this generator and it's one of the best investments we've made. I can't stress enough the peace of mind we have now. Thank you Generac for standing by!!!

I know the generator runs weekly, but I have never heard it! It just sits quietly, waiting for the power to go out. Earlier this month we had a large storm, and lost power. Within a minute, the generator had started, and all I had to do was re-set the clock on the microwave. Now all the neighbors are being very friendly! This is probably the best addition I could have made to our house.

As a small custom home builder, I build a lot of homes that are on large acreage. Thus these sights are prone to power outages due to their geographical locations. The Generac 22KW with the auto xfer and gas back up is a MUST. Just the peace of mind in knowing that you do not need to break out all the candles, flash lights and blankets when they are calling for bad weather in a life saver. Easily one of the best investments you will ever make!

We have only had a short outage since unit was installed so I cannot give a full opinion on the quality or operation. Bear Rock Electric installed the unit and we were very pleased with them. From the initial phone call to the estimate to the install and after care they were great. We live on the Outer Banks and finding quality contractors is rare so hopefully the unit works as well as the installers.

We are very pleased with this Generac generator. The unit was hooked up Oct 2016. It has come on twice already; once for 8 hrs and once for 4 hrs. It performed exactly as advertised. We like the maintenance cycle that is programmed to run every 2 weeks. There is some low level noise, but it is not a problem for us or our neighbors. We live in an area where powers goes off each time the wind picks up above 5 mph ... well, almost. Six months ago we decided to install a 22KW standby Generac generator with transfer switch with Generac Mobile Link. Apart from a small issue at start due to a defective air filter (which would make the generator choke under certain conditions) which was rapidly identified and solved, we are most happy with our new generator. It kicks in as soon as we loose power, and within 20 second or so our power is restored and very stable whatever was on at the time (ovens, electric range, AC, etc). The mobile link allows us to check the status of our generator even when we are away from home and provides additional security. Finally we also installed a surge protector for the whole house including the generator. This generator is still quite noisy, but it seems somewhat less than some other generators we hear in our area. It is most important to choose the right contractor to install this generator, especially with the transfer switch and with all the rewiring that may be needed. Ours was stellar, and this was an important part in our positive experience. In short, we are very happy with our purchase, and would buy the same again.

New, for me, technology vs. setting an alarm to put gas in a generator that's outside. Relatively quiet and it tests itself weekly. Only had to use 3 times, but when the lights go out before it kicks in, it's a great feeling know it's there. A complimentary product would be a surge protector that would protect the entire house.

In the past I have only installed water cooled units at our homes but I decided to try the 22KW or this installation. The area required is much smaller but the unit seems to be as noisy as a 3600 RPM water cooled unit. I am not sure what i expected but I was surprised at the level of noise the first real power loss.

We live in a forest. Ice storms and heavy snow can take out electric for days at a time. With our generator the unbelievable inconvenience is a thing of the past. We spend the winter in Florida so use the cell phone system to notify us whenever it starts or more importantly whenever it doesn't. So far it has started every time but it is good to know that I will know if it doesn't start up.
