I had my 14kw generator installed in September of 2022. I wrote a glowing review a year ago when the generator flawlessly got us through a power outage over Xmas in 2022. I wanted to follow up with another review. You may have read about the big wind storm in Maine this December where 1/2 million Mainers lost power. Our power was out for 4 full days. Again, our generator performed perfectly. The temperatures dipped into the teens but we had zero discomfort. We had running water (we have a well pump), oven, electronics, etc.... I have been good about maintenance, load-testing, and daily oil checks when the generator is running but the generator has consistently delivered as promised. Again, I couldn't recommend it more.

This isn't a review. It's a question. Suppose you have a generator running for your whole house, but at night you just have a couple of night lights on or you want all your clocks to not reset, so you would have to run your generator 24/7 and waste propane/gas just to trickle a little electricity. Why can't they pair a generator up with a power cell, then the generator can run full bore for an hour or so to charge the batter cell and then turn off. When the batter gets low, the generator turns back on. In this way you don't need to choose between all on or all off. This is what I'm waiting for before I buy. Any ideas?

The voltage regulator in my 20 KW Generac died after eight years it cost almost as much to replace it as a new generator so I replaced it with a new 18 KW Generac installer hooked it up today and the control board is froze up now I have to wait for a technician to come out I am not happy at all with Generac right now

We had our 22Kw generator installed last fall just in time for hurricane season. The Carolina's get a lot of hurricanes that affect the inland areas as well as the coast. Plus our ice storms cause a lot of power outages. It is really reassuring having the Generac. We can stay cool in the heat and warm when cold.

Installed in one day, February 2009. Has been very reliable ever since. Programmed to "exercise" for 12 minutes every week and has done so. Maintenance is only oil & filter changes and spark plugs every two years. Have only had to replace the trickle charge module after 9 years of operation. Cost to purchase and install is worth the peace of mind it brings. This units powers approximately 80% of our whole home.

We finally had our Generac automatic standby generator installed 1/20/2023. Supply chain issues (every company we quoted also had some delays) and our gas companies meter upgrade took additional time but the big day came and we are delighted. Our dealer only does Generac installs and servicing and it was quite a sight to watch them work. Anyway, my wife and I (and our dealer) have the My Link app on our phones, making it very easy to check the units status, history, notifications, etc. Also, this product was NOT made in China but right here in Wisconsin. Great job Generac!

Well our Generac 22K generator is ready every second every hour of everyday 24/7 peace of mind. Completely satisfied with our generator, comes on once a week for 10 min to do a self test, great feature. We did lose power this winter season and just like generac said the unit will kick on in 10 seconds. Restored power to the house!!!! At that point I said it was worth every penny. We have had our 22kw generator for only about 1 week and it has not yet been turned on due to a power outage. It won't be long if history is an indicator. We chose this size generator and brand after lots of research and expect it will provide the power backup we need. In the meantime it hs provided lots of peace of mind.

The generator has been installed for just over a year. We live in a rural area where we have frequent power outages and the unit is very reliable. It is located next to the main entrance to our house and looks great, the running noise level is very reasonable. We recently had a problem with the transfer switch, we called an authorized service dealer and they where quick and professional

In a rural setting it's common for trees along the road to fall and interrupt power. The GENERAC automatic stand-by generator system can produce enough wattage to supply household power sufficient to maintain refrigeration, lights, air conditioning, TV and internet connection automatically. This is huge when living in, and surviving, power outages that can last weeks during storms with extreme heat and humidity in sub tropical Florida. In many areas, such as mine with acreage, it typically means some level of self reliance, so from a trade standpoint, (as an electrician) I found this unit relatively easy to install and connect to my existing utility power system.
