Totally worth it!

Just started using smart products for my furbaby, and the Puramax 2 is already a total game changer. I haven't scooped litter since the day I set it up. It's quiet, cleans fast, and my cat adjusted right away. The bundle comes with everything you need and just makes life so much easier. Totally worth it!

People and cat approve of this unit

In short, I like the design of this Petkit Puramax 2 vs most other auto boxes. I would recommend this unit; it works well as long as it has a hard surface underneath for the weight sensors. We put a thick piece of cardboard under ours on carpet. The verbose detail: We had been manually scooping for years, and my wife was skeptical of the cost of the machines. At $299, it was not a steep investment to try and seems to have fewer parts to where out. For example, when considering the popular Whisker Litter Robot, I was concerned about the globe liner that costs $80 to replace. The app is fairly intuitive, and I didn't have much trouble connecting to the network, though ours has both 2.4 and 5ghz. Our cat is 14 pounds and has been accustomed to a much larger cabinet space, so we weren't sure how he would take to this. He ignored the Petkit unit until I moved it directly next to his old litter box cabinet and then blocked off the access to the old unit. After a few days, I moved it to it's preferred location on another floor, and he continued to use it, but the app was saying that it wasn't being used. Each day, I would get alerts telling me that it wasn't being used, but we could see activity and run a manual cleaning. It occurred to me that I had put it directly on the carpet, and the weight sensors were not sensing the cat; the instructions do say it needs to be on a hard surface. A thick piece of cardboard was enough to allow for a sturdy surface; a piece of wood might be better. The design of this Puramax 2 utilizes a ramp in the back that dumps into an open bin on the side. It works very well in it's simplicity, but I was at first wondering if the odors would escape the bin. My wife is very sensitive to fragrances, and she did not like the auto sprayer and fragrant cube designed to placed above the bin, so she removed both of them. Even with them gone, I don't sense an odor coming from the unit. I changed the app setting to sift the litter 4 minutes after sensing activity to give more time for clumping, and it all seems to work well. We use Chewy's Frisco Cat unscented clay clumping litter, and it works great. It's so much easier for us, and we suspect that our cat appreciates having freshly sifted litter each use.

Fantastic litter box

So I started using my litter box in December, and it's almost March and it still runs good. I only have one cat, but change the waste bin about once a week. I love the fact it has a maintenance mode that rotates up allowing you to refill litter and clean the litter box. I was scared my cat wouldn't like the litter box since she had never used one, but she took to using this one quite quickly. My house doesn't smell like I have a cat, and the odor neutralizer and spray that goes inside the unit does a really good job of keeping it smelling good and odor management. I'm really happy with my litter box, and in a litter box market this one hits all the right boxes without too steep of a price point. I researched throughly and did see some negative reviews on this one, but I figured I'd at least give it a try, and I am so glad that I did. Also for the price point in this bundle, you don't have to worry about trash bags for the unit for at least a year(multicat households may go through them quicker though). I do use the app pretty frequently and love the fact it keeps track of my cats weight, and I like being able to see how often my cat goes to the restroom- it's genuinely just good to help keep track of their health overall. Highly recommend this litter box to everyone.

Just what you want from an automatic litter box

This automatic litter box has been an absolute life saver. I have two pets, and it has saved me so much time and hassle. The device keeps everything clean, keeps the smell away, and my pets actually love it. They took to it right away. I don't have to worry about constant scooping anymore, and the convenience is incredible. I would highly recommend this litter box to anyone with one or more cats. It's truly made my daily routine easier!

I just upgraded from my original Petkit litter box after 5 years. this one is a little bit wider, and set up is a bit different, so I had to go through the manual to make sure I was doing everything right. So far, I think there's some good updates including the waste bin and odor management options, but I think I will need to use this for some time to see. I purchased this bundle while It was on sale, and it's a really great value with multiple sets aof bags and the deoderizer kit.

Best Cat purchase

Out of all the automatic ones I have this is my favorite. And I have 3 other brands have 6 cats this one sits in my room where I am most of the day sitting right next to it. Half the time I don't hear the cats go in its so quiet when it runs it's cycle and there is no cat poo or wet smell what so ever. I just wish now I would had found this one before the others. Have had it now for 3 months and no issues whatsoever

I wish I had checked reviews for this litter box on other websites. It is so notorious for leaking under the drum that pet kit has now released a new improved drum that they want to charge people $140 for. Unfortunately the new improved drum is reported to leak also. I will be returning this.

When pets urinate toward openings along the side of the cylinder or when using the unit without the entrance properly aligned, liquid can bypass the intended containment areas. Did not perform as advertised

Product did not perform as advertised. The wet litter stuck to the inside walls as the barrel rolled around. After a couple of weeks, the unit itself started to smell of cat urine, even though I followed the instructions for the odor remover, etc. When we went to move it to return it, urine leaked out of the unit. It was more work than my normal, scoop it yourself, litter box.

Buyer Beware!

I bought this -- it doesn't work properly. The app keeps telling me a cat has been in the pan for more than 5 minutes and then "shuts off" (overnight at times) for safety purposes. Sure I can reset it manually, but for $500 I shouldn't have to. However, here's the bigger problem: Sam's WILL NOT allow me to return this online order even though the listing mentions a 90-day return policy. "Buyer beware!"

It's not working properly

I was very excited to receive this. I did see one negative review saying that you're not able to return this online even though it says it's 90 days. It did make me hesitated not buying this just in case you can't return it because it has a problem. Ending up, I do have a problem with product. You can't return it online..like ship it back to them. You can return it at the store. There are a few items I bought shipped to the house that you cannot return through online. You would have to return it at the store. For me, this is pretty common. Nothing to write a negative review about in my opinion. You just need to take it to the store. It doesn't matter to me returning it at the store or having to drop it off at FedEx. It takes just as long for me at least. The reason why I gave it a one star is that our machine is not working properly. As really hard time to connect, we are using the 2.4 Wi-Fi. When it does, it would get stuck emptying out and it keeps detecting our kitty is in there and our kitty is not in there. I don't know. Maybe we got a really bad product. I have been troubleshooting it or over 2 days. A new product shouldn't make me work that hard to get it to work properly. It's less of a headache to go it the old school way. So I'm going to have to return it and order another one to give it another try. I will update the review afterwards I get the next product. Hopefully it will be smoother this time around.
