I felt like I was taking a chance when I bought these, and I am so glad I did! My first concern was my conch piercings. I wear hoops in them, and I was afraid they would get in the way, but they did not! Both open earbuds fit as they need to with no discomfort. On to the actual sound: wow! I am amazed they pack such a punch. I know the Bose brand is high quality, but with a unique open earbud like this, I was apprehensive. It was baseless. They sound incredible. I absolutely love that I can listen to my music at work, but still communicate with coworkers. I can play Pokemon Go with the sound on outside with friends, but not subject all of them to my phone volume. I absolutely love them.

They have really changed my life! I previously had bone-conduction headphones that rattled by cheekbones and gave me a terrible toothache, but I loved the open-ear concept because I run and bike a lot. These are the perfect solution, and the sound quality is incredible. They are comfortable and stay securely on my ears even while jogging. They're also attractive and look like jewelry (I have the blue/purple ones). I already got a friend to buy these on my recommendation. My only caveat is that it takes a little learning to master the touch controls, which doesn't matter too much if you control everything from your phone.

I have a teenager, and while this should be self-explanatory, let me explain. She hasn’t taken off her headphones for more than a few minutes in over four years. I was so frustrated at constantly having to text her whenever she was needed, and the in-ear headphones caused a lot of stubborn earwax build-up that we had to deal with. So I got her the Bose Open Ear headphones—and just like before, they haven’t come off. But this time, at least she can hear her surroundings. She’s still able to enjoy her music and podcasts, but now she can respond when someone calls her, hear me without shouting, and even stay aware of what’s happening around her. As a parent, that’s a huge relief. No more isolation, no more ear problems—just a happy teenager who still gets her constant soundtrack, and a parent who doesn’t feel ignored. Because of this, I got a second pair for myself. I had the previous in ear Bose and it never quite fit right. These solve that issue for me and I am overall extremely satisfied.

I have a slight obsession with headphones and earbuds, even more so since I switched to bone conduction for running. These aren't that, but they are amazing! Obviously they don't block noise, and they're not supposed to so a lot noise will result in an inability to hear your music/podcast/whatever. Traditional earbuds leave my ears feeling dirty because I generally am listening to something for most of the day (audiobooks, music, or Podcasts at any given time). These don't leave you Googling "how many hours is safe to wear noise cancelling earbuds?" Or "am I pushing earwax further into my ear with my earbuds?" But they are very comfortable (I forget they're there), surprisingly secure, and the sound quality, assuming you're in a reasonable area, is great! Expensive but worth the splurge.
