I have never had the chance to try an open ear earbud before and it was definitely an interesting experience. The fit of the Bose open earbuds is so light and so comfortable you almost forget they are there. The sound quality is good for this type of earbud. I love how easy it is to switch modes at the push of a button. I had no issues using these earbuds while running or doing other gym activities. Battery life was really good. I was able to stream podcasts, take calls and listen to music for a few days before needing to charge the case. You do have to make sure the contacts on the earbud are placed properly in the case. Otherwise one will charge and the other may not. My one con is the Bose App. I often find it very laggy when switching my devices and sometimes it doesn’t connect properly. I hope they provide updates on this soon. Other than that when it functions, having the ability to customize sound is great and the app is fairly user friendly. I definitely would recommend this type of bud if your looking for something with great sound that won’t fall out of your ear when your active. I do wish that along with the immersion it had the same capabilities as the other Bose Ultra line but it’s not a deal breaker these are pretty amazing!

My first impression of these Ultra open earbuds was that their design is different from any other earbuds I've ever used. There is a bit of a learning curve if you are used to plugging up your ear canal with more traditional noise cancelling earbuds as well as the unique cuff design, but once you get used to the feel and fit of how these should be worn, it's a game changer. Even with hours of use, they are so lightweight and comfortable, you'll forget you are wearing them. Battery life seems to be good, and you get a couple/few charges from the case as well. I use headphones or earbuds primarily for listening to music. I don't usually use them for calls, nor do I exercise with them on, although these feel stable enough on your ear that I think they would handle activity well without falling off. As with my Bose QC 35 II over-ear headphones, I would have liked a bit more volume, but the richness and clarity of the sound more than makes up for this. I will opt for sound quality over volume, and I find that I tend not to max out the volume on these anyway to have the best and most enjoyable listening experience. The open ear design and immersive sound makes you feel like the music surrounds you, which you will never have experienced in any other earbuds you have ever used. While absence of these features is not a deal breaker for me personally, it is worth mentioning that these are not noise cancelling, nor is there a rubber ear piece adapter option to make them fit into your ear canal to make them noise cancelling (which would be contradictory to their open ear design), the case does not have wireless/Qi charging, and the call quality according to the party on the other end was not clear/loud enough. (On my end the call sounded fine). I actually prefer being able to hear what's going on around me and to engage in a conversation if I need to while wearing these earbuds. The only other thing I would like to see improved might be the modes in the Bose Music App settings. I have not really been able to notice any discernible difference between most of the modes offered, but again this is hardly a deal breaker as there is an equalizer and some other settings you can adjust and most music apps also have their own equalizers for additional fine tuning to your listening preferences. I will be interested to see what additional features and/or improvements future updates may bring to these earbuds. These Ultra Open earbuds have quickly become my favorites in the short time I have been using them, and I know they will be my go-to because nothing compares to the quality you expect from a Bose product, the immersive sound these offer, and the ability to wear them for long periods of time without any discomfort or having to recharge them often. I'd have given these a solid 4.5, but 1/2 stars weren't an option, nothing is perfect and there is always room for improvement. I definitely would recommend to go buy yourself a pair – you won't be disappointed!

I bought these ear phones and I have to always reconnect the Bluetooth every time I receive a call or when I swap ear phones . Sometimes I’m listening to music and the earphones are out of sync. It does fit well on my ear on the right side like that earphone has a manufacturer defect

I’ve had these since they came out and I don’t regret the purchase at all. Sound quality is great, although they lack a little bit on the base end of things. However I don’t typically listen to music for the bass so it’s not something I miss. Take these running with me and it makes it easier to talk to and listen to my daughter, who goes with me, and I don’t constantly have to adjust the volume or press anything to stop the music. They stay in place, don’t slip or move. Recommend for anyone with an active lifestyle.

I bought these open ear buds a few weeks ago and absolutely love them! Whether you listen to your music loud or soft the music quality is amazing. It’s uncanny how a person standing right next to you cannot hear your music. Because of the cuff design you still hear everything around exactly as if you were not wearing the ear buds at all.

So far really please with this product. They are earbuds you didn’t know you needed. Previously I would use QC noise cancelling earbuds at the office and gym. Now these are the go to ones to use. All day comfort and never needing adjusting. Once you find the fitment place on the ear for you forget they are there. No more pausing and or removing an earbud to clearly hear someone, or missing something someone said. The buttons are easy to use and give you positive feel of pressing a button versus just touching an object (earbud). Once weather is warmer I really feel these will be the earbuds to use while cycling as it will allow me to hear my surroundings while enjoying the music at the same time. Sound is typical Bose quality deep rich music - good bass and clear. The big difference the the staying in place and all day comfort they provide.

Purchased primarily to connect to my soundbar 700 to hear television programs better without blasting everyone else out. This is great feature to connect via Bluetooth that makes viewing more enjoyable. I also wear the earbuds for workouts too and they sound great in immersive mode. Pricey but glad I bought.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just purchased my Bose open style earphones last week and I really enjoy them to a point where I forget I’m even wearing them which is great because my last earbuds hurting the inside of my ear. The only thing I do not like is how they do not integrate with Apple like my last beat in, and there is a bit and slight delay to the connection between my phone and the Ear clips. I am also not happy with the sound, meaning I do not like that. They are not loud enough and I do not like that. There is no way to get background noise to go away. It is sad to know that the out side sounds are louder than my bose ear clips are hard to hear with outside noises.
