Best Earbud
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These are the best earbuds that I have used. The in-ear buds would never stay in my ear during my gym workout or while on the golf range practicing. These earbuds stay in place with any worry. My only complaint is that they do not go over the ear canal enough to get the full sound effect. I can hold the earbud over the canal and have much better quality sound.
A new kind of listening experience
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got these through the Bose trade-in program and I couldn't be happier with them. The sound design works in such a way that, when I first tried them, I kept checking my phone to make sure the sound wasn't just coming from its speaker. That was honestly ideal--I often want to listen to podcasts and things through my phone speaker, but don't out of courtesy to my housemates. I have another pair of noise canceling earbuds which I love, but those can make it hard to hear when someone knocks at the door or my dog needs to go out, etc. I also find it far more comfortable to do things like eat or brush my teeth while wearing the ultra open earbuds--there's none of that sensation that comes from hearing your own chewing sounds too loudly. Of course, where these really shine is outdoors. Wearing them on a hike or bike ride is perfection. You can hear the sounds of nature (or the sounds of another bike rider asking to let them pass), all while the outdoor sounds stay shockingly well-balanced with the music/ebook sounds coming through the earbuds. Though I wouldn't necessarily advise wearing these by a busy highway, for instance, as they can certainly be overpowered by loud enough outdoor sounds! I find them surprisingly comfortable. The fit takes some getting used to, as it doesn't feel very secure at first. But I've worn these while jumping rope, bike riding, and jogging, and they've never gotten close to falling out. One surprising use-case that I've found for them is to listen to white-noise in bed (rain sounds, for instance). The spatial sound features make it feel like you're "there," and add to the overall soothing atmosphere. That's not to say that I don't have my issues, most of which come down to connectivity. They simply don't work well when paired to multiple devices--I can't get them to play my phone music unless they're connected only to my phone. I also had a strange hiccup where the sound wasn't playing out of the right earbud, and I had to reset them. I also find their push-button controls to be a bit awkward. The button itself is great (I much prefer a clicky button to the soft tap functionality of many earbuds), but I'm not a fan of the "double-press to skip ahead, triple-press to skip backward" kind of control scheme. At the very least, I'd appreciate the ability to have more customization over the controls and which button does what. I'll also note that these are pricey. I have many friends who I think would enjoy these earbuds (particularly friends with sensory issues) but it's hard to recommend them at the current price point. And, like I said, I got them at a reduced price through a trade-in, so it's hard to say if I would feel that they were worth it at full price. I'm giving them 5 stars, but my feeling is that they're more of a 4.5 star product (rounded up). I love them a lot, but there are some hiccups in their functionality (that I expect Bose will iron out with future firmware updates and the like). All that being said...I'm extremely happy with my purchase. The ultra open earbuds really feel "revolutionary," while still being extremely practical. I was worried that they would be too niche for me to use much. I certainly didnt expect to reach for them over my noise-canceling earbuds. But I've found myself using them extremely regularly. The sound quality is amazing, and somewhat mimics the experience of listening to music through a multiroom speaker setup (though I wouldn't expect these to replace my speakers any time soon). They're a joy to experience, and they add some peace of mind in knowing that I'm not missing anything in the world around me.
I'm late to the party.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had these for a few weeks now. The audio quality is outstanding. The battery life is fantastic. There is a little getting used to but it's not for what you would think. I often forget I am wearing them, so when I am showing something to a friend on my phone I have to remember to disconnect from the earbuds first. The price can seem high but I feel they are worth it. Being a musician I really appreciate the overall quality of sound. The ability to have a conversation and listen to high quality music is impressive to me. This is my first time owning any Bose equipment and I'm no fan boy but I will be looking at more products.
Great Holding Power
I have been thoroughly impressed with the durability and secure fit of these earbuds. Unlike other brands I've tried, these earbuds stay comfortably in my ears without constantly falling out, even during active movement. The sound quality is fantastic, delivering crisp highs and deep bass for an immersive listening experience. The sleek design and long battery life make these earbuds stand out for anyone needing reliable and high-performing audio accessories. I highly recommend them!
Better than the other brands
I prefer this offering over the over the ear open ear buds. Much more comfortable, excellent sound quality, premium feel, app is easy to use. I like the we amd immersive audio features. At first, I did not like them, but after trying the other brands, I felt that these were the best product for what I do with exercising , leisure listening, and work.
Freedom!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Enjoying my open earbuds tremendously! I get my music and still converse with walking buddies. So easy to wrap around ear and so secure I don’t notice I have them on. No more knocking off with hat, no more silent strolls. They stay charged longer than any other earphones I have had.
Really light-weight and sturdy build.
After using these earbuds for some weeks I'm happy to say they're great for working out and won't fall off your ears like others have. I've been using these at my job pretty much as earplugs and they've been more than comfortable when I use them for hours on end.
Great concept, but……
I like the concept, overall these are great for remote work, as I don't have anything in my ear canal for 8 hours, and I can also stay aware of my surroundings. They actually sound really good, however my only issue with these are making phone calls and zoom calls, everytime I Ske these calls people say that I sound unclear and muffled. If you can please update the call quality, these would be even better.
Not Suitable For My Environment
I bought this product primarily because it would be able to clip onto my ears and not fall out. I have difficulty with those other EarPods falling out of my ear. Also, to communicate and not having to hold my phone as I need both hands to do my work. I do not purchase this product to listen to music. I work in a noisy environment, at an airport with airplanes coming and going, repairing airplanes and having to communicate with someone else in another area of the airplane, I am not able to hear what the other person is saying to me. This product, as far as I am concerned, is excellent for listening to music is a semi-quiet environment, not a noisy one. I need a product which can be inserted into my ear canal and be able to block out external noises and be noise cancelling. Unfortunately, I am sorry but I will be returning this product.
From Sony to Bose - great earbuds!
I went from the Sony wf1000xm4 series earbuds to these Bose QuiteComfort. These Bose are a good bit better than the xm4 series. Note that I did really like the Sony earbuds, and I suspect the new xm5 series where they resolved some customer complaints will still make them a great pair of buds. I just wanted a change to see the difference in the brands. The good - noise cancelling is fantastic! I just flew from Atlanta to Vegas roundtrip and with music playing I could not even hear the loud plane noises. Mowing the grass, also great, I can still hear the mower just a bit but I don't have to blast the music to drown it out like I did with the Sony. The medium size ear pieces fit perfectly for me, again also a better snug fit and more comfortable than the Sony. Sound quality is what you would expect from Bose, amazing. The app that is used with this model is really good, I like the ability to set the equalizer for the sound. The bad, but not really that bad - like most have mentioned, the carrying case is a bit large and bulky but does not bother me. I don't care they stick out of my ear, also something that does not bother me. So far, that's about it, I do really like them!. Last thought, for the price compared to the quite comfort ultra, you can't go wrong. I imagine the ultra are a bit better but I doubt I would be able to tell the difference. In addition, sorry Sony, but these are cheaper than the newer xm5 model. Overall, excellent earbuds!
