The microphone and speakers do better with minimal external noises. Physical build quality and battery life are pretty good. Would recommend these for use in low noise environments.

I bought these a month ago and they feel great, the way they fit around my ear is fantastic. That being said, using them on an airplane isn't the best choice with all the background noise. I already have another in-ear old style set of Bose earbuds with the curved shaped insert for the ear that sounds great, the only problem was keeping them in my ears. I am going to try the new style in-ear Bose ear buds and hopefully three is the charm. Kelly M. Las Vegas, NV.

These are my favorite for workouts and yard work. They're fantastic because you get great sound while still staying aware of your surroundings. I can listen to music and still hear my wife if she calls me—something you don't get with most headphones.

When I bought the Ultra Earbuds from Bose, I was a little apprehensive about the sound quality. Being open the way they are I thought it would make the sound less clear than my quiet comfort buds. Bose came through again with fantastic sound in a very comfortable fit.

The noise cancellation is definitely a lower quality than some of their other earbuds, which the price point does accurately reflect, but they still provide quality sound and work just fine.
