They just are. You may balk at the lack of noise-canceling or the fact that they just “hang” on your ears… I’m here to tell you— these are amazing.

A bit about me. I have tiny ears. I’m a petite woman. Even the smallest AirPods do not fit and give me a massive earache. To add “injury to insult” (yes, that was intentionally backward)… I have piercings. I have inner ear piercings on both sides. This doesn’t exactly set me up for success for earbuds. I had given up on that very idea. I have Bose Quiet Comfort headphones. But they’re not ideal for every situation. Enter these magical devices that Bose made just for me. They did, right? I’m a woman. And I'm a mom. These are two roles that typically don’t lend to many noise-cancelling opportunities. If I’m in the other room folding laundry? I WANT to hear if little Jimmy fell off the top bunk for the 3rd time today. What if he broke his arm that time? If I’m jogging the trails? I WANT to hear if a creepy guy is starting to encroach on my space and breathing heavier. Ew. These are not perfect. I’m not in sales, and I’m not about to sell you on these. There is a learning curve to putting them “on.” Especially if you have piercings, like I do. On my tragus side, there is no issue. I’m still working with my daith— the jury is out. Positioning is tricky to get comfortable on that side. From what I can tell, you cannot wear these with dangly lobe earrings or anything of that nature. But—the beautiful part is that the earbud is not exactly static. These have a ton of flexibility to them. When you get it right, it legitimately feels like you have nothing on your ear. Almost weightless. Do you have a hearing aid? This is your earbud. I’m really happy you finally have a quality product accessible to you. They hold a charge for a long time— I haven’t even been able to drain them to tell you just how long. While on the subject of charging, I will tell you that I am both surprised and disappointed that the charger is not wireless. Especially when my husband’s older Bose earbuds are. Dunno what happened there. It’s a small drawback, and I got over it… The sound quality is what you would expect from Bose…it’s excellent. The immersion mode is cool and something I enjoyed more than I thought I would. The app is great (I already had it from my Comfort Headphones, and it picked up the Ultra Open Earbuds with no problem). Phone calls? Answering calls is not intuitive to me, but that’s a non-Apple curve I’m willing to learn. Zoom calls? All good. No issues thus far. That’s it for now! If I could rate it a 4.5, I would. I highly recommend these earbuds. They are extra comfy to wear for extended periods. Normally I don't like 3d audio, but these buds have changed my mind on it. The open back vibe plus the optional headtracking makeshift feel like a speaker is in front of you. Battery life is good. Sound quality is good. Case is serviceable, nothing special but nothing bad either.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Pro: Amazingly crisp and full-bodied sound. Adjustable EQ is great. The "immersion" mode is really 😎 sweet! The best part is, they're extremely lightweight, and I can literally hear everything around me as I go about my day, forgetting they are even on my ears. Just as expensive as Airpods but with ZERO EAR ACHE/fatigue. Con: I forget that they are even there! I can literally hear everything going on around me..! Doesn't make sense? "Hear" me out; If I have been wearing them all day, I forget they are in my ears, which makes it easy to forget them when taking off my shirt or jacket, etc. Thus, dropping it without even noticing it's gone until sound plays.. The other con? The downside to having the ability to completely hear my surroundings comes at a cost to sound quality and decibels in certain locations where there are more noises and/or environmental sounds. But honestly, it's well worth the trade off, so long as, you aren't trying to lose yourself in a movie while simultaneously driving a D9 Dozer.

I own Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds and have been using them when commuting or exercising. They are comfortable but after a long while, my ears would feel a bit sore. Don't get me wrong, I still think these Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds are great noise cancellation earbuds. Then came Bose Ultra Open Earbuds. These open earbuds are very comfortable in my ears. I was worried they would not be secure inside my ear and would fall off when I am running, but surprisingly they fit securely and very comfortably in my ears. The quality of the sound is great as well. Next upgrade - noise cancellation open earbuds. But I don't mind the current one does not have noise cancellation functionality because I usually turn off the noise cancellation functionality when commuting or walking so I am aware of my surrounding.

Unfortunately, they stared acting strange, the earbuds may discharge randomly, then one of them stop working, just after 2 months I've bought them. But the warranty worked perfectly , they send me a new pair in exchange

Obviously you can’t have noise cancellation with open ears but I love them in the gym. I’ve had numerous compliments wearing them!

I've had these for approximately 3 weeks now and wear them every day. I am not a techy person and had my last phone for 8 years, only upgrading after features stopped working. I purchased these because of the unique wearbility function. My old headphones were beats by drea behind wraparound and started to cause significant ear pain. These bose headphones are intuitive and super easy to connect. I fell asleep wearing them and it easily slipped down my ear without rubbing. I recently connected the app to learn more about the functions and personalization. The features are a bonus to me, as my primary use is Spotify and an occasional phone call. I would give it a perfect score if bose allowed one of the personalizations to be volume rather than pause/stero mode. Overall, minor issue for the comfort gained
