Can they be better, yes, they can and probably with just a firmware update. With Android based phones they seem to work better than with the obvious alternative, at which point you have problems with volume, mainly because Bluetooth doesn’t have full control of the phone’s volume function, you need to keep your eye on your phone, and press volume up to be able to hear regular phone calls, otherwise, sometimes it can be hard to hear the person talking to you. They work perfectly fine for listening to your favorite tunes, so there’s that. Bose needs to work on the firmware under which the headphones are operating currently.

I've tried several others and no matter what I do, they fall out of my ears. These stay put. Even when you are moving around (which I do while working, which is where I primarily use these earbuds.) Dancing, exercising, just whatever body movements you may be doing, these say in place. In addition to the stay put factor, the fact that these don't sit directly in the ear, they don't get dirty from ear wax, making sharing them a little more tolerable. (If that's something you do.) One other check in the Pro column is that, even though they are 'over the ear' earbuds, they do not interfere with eye glasses or headbands. This was something I was initially worried about when I was shopping for them since I do wear glasses. Another bonus with them not being inside the ear, is that you don't get that inner noise. For example, with in the ear buds I've used, I can hear the beat of my footsteps or that bass noise when chewing. Things that that. You don't get that with these. The Bluetooth range is pretty good. Really, the only thing that some may consider a Con about these is that they aren't noise cancelling, so if that is something you are looking for these may not be for you, but for personal safety reasons, that is not something I want in an earbud.

If you like to listen but want to keep your spatial awareness, these are the earphones to get. They sit comfortably (after a small adjustment period) and if you keep them mid-range in volume, you'll still get a private listening experience with minimal bleed. It's the best for hikes, walks, commutes, work, anything where you want to stay aware.

I bought the Ultra Open Earbuds less than a month ago, I believe I have found an earbud that will keep up with my lifestyle, it easy to keep up with and doesn't fall out of my ear. it keeps me able to listen to the music and still hear whats going on around me without me loosing my concentration of what I am doing.

Purchased these a few weeks ago and sound is good. Compfortable to wear. There is a delay when answering the phone and using google maps, sometimes they don't connect to incoming calls at all. They are good for litening to music but if you are looking for all-in-one music and hands free talking on phone, they are not so good. I regret buying these aalthough I have other BOSE products that I love.

I been suffering from ear pain due to use of airpods and was looking for a comparably performing reliable alternative that wouldn't seal the ear canal , finally found one, love the buds , it would have been even better if the case had wireless charging..

I can barely hear the music when there is background noise around. I wear these open earbuds during my workday and I'm very aware of my surroundings while interacting in conversation, but I also hear my music at the same time. It's so nice not having to pause to take the earbud out. Additionally, the Immersive Audio feature is so clear, it makes you feel like you're in the front row of the concert.
