I did try putting soup in it, and it really is leak proof, no leaks at all! It looks like a glass container but is made of plastic so it's light and still looks great! I highly recommend it! Lots of containers seem to be leak proof. But Rubbermaid Brillance really is.

I received this product for free in exchange for my honest review. In the past, I have found that in order to get an amazingly tight seal on a food storage container, that container usually has to be glass. I was so surprised when I got the chance to try these Rubbermaid Brilliance Food Storage Containers, and found that- although plastic- they sealed every bit as well! I love that these containers come with a leak-proof guarantee, so I know that there won't be leaks or spills! My husband is loving that they are easy to put his lunch in for work, and even if his lunch gets turned upside down, that lid is staying on, and it's sealed tight! He's also loving that they are so much more lightweight than our old glass ones! He has to walk quite a ways with his lunch each day, and these are so lightweight that he doesn't even notice the extra weight at all. Can't wait to buy more sizes of these Rubbermaid Brilliance Food Storage Containers!

(This review was collected as part of a promotion.) Well, I can't say that I've done much this container so far. The only thing I tested was the leak-proof design and it seems to hold up perfectly. I'm not sure how long it will stay that way with the repeated dishwasher and microwave cycling. Only time will tell. This container is good for anybody that carries liquid lunches around. You won't open your lunchbox to a flooded mess! I'd have to say that the price point seems a bit high for what you get though. Purchasing a whole set of these would break the bank!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These containers have a wonderful seal on them that will keep your food fresh. I used mine to put rice, flour, sugar, coffee and cereal in. I was able to stack the ones I needed for space saving. The reason I only gave them 3 stars is because the material they are made of is somewhat brittle and has a sort of adhesive surface. After opening them I stacked them in each other and I was unable to get the two bigger ones apart. My husband even had an issue trying. We finally did. If not for that they are great containers that seal wonderfully well.

My father has a condition that makes it difficult to hold things so if he drops this or it slips on the counter ...no mess. Yet this is easy to open even my mom with arthritis can use it with ease. The container is dishwasher safe so easy to clean and can go in the microwave another win win . You can bet I'm getting a whole set.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited to get this pantry set. As soon as I opened it I could see scuffs and scratches. I tried to wipe them down to see if they would come off but they did not. There were scratches on the lids and sides of the containers. The containers do stack but do not sit securely and can be knocked over easily. I did like that the lids suction in and lock in place.

I found it difficult to open but do not mind as it works so well. I linke that the design works well with most other containers, making is easier to store or stack. Seems appropriate for anyone who brings lunch to work/school.

The only thing I find is if you spill something on the locking closures while using it it an sometimes be hard to get off. But other than that I would recommend this product to everyone ! I have uses mine for soups stews and just about everything. I even bought the bigger one aswell.
