This is exactly what I needed for my back and shoulder pain, it's very firm and keeps your posture well positioned. You feel recharged, relaxed and ready to work next day. A good sleep is very important for everyone and this mattress is definitely worth all the money spent on it. You can never go wrong with this mattress. We made the mistake of going cheap and ordering a "highly rated" bed-in-a-box mattress sight unseen from another company and it was awful. We quickly returned that one and decided to get more serious and went in-store to try out some other mattress options. After many exhaustive options we finally landed on the Stearns and Foster Lux Estate, pillowtop firm. Still, it's hard to judge a mattress just from a quick 5 minute test in a store with sales people hounding you. I am here to say that we've now had our mattress for a full week and it's seriously the most amazing mattress I think I've ever slept on in my life. I will sound like an advertisement, but I also noticed my ongoing neck and shoulder pain has also disappeared. It's a splurge and an investment but so happy we made the upgrade.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This mattress proved to be excellent for my back. I was skeptical for the ultra firmness but it proved that this is what I wanted. I do not use a spring box and I have it on the floor (sleep with my 2yr son). It helped my back pain disappear and it is highly recommended if you are sleeping on your back. Granted, I'm not able to sleep on my stomach any more but I do not care. It is a thick mattress that adds several inches clearance from the ground. Sitting on the edge doesn't create an issue i.e. it doesn't sank in. It may take a couple of days to adjust to it but I will never go back.

The mattress is firm and supportive for your body, but the pillowtop adds a comfy layer so when you climb into bed you are surrounded with comfort. I will say this mattress is very thick and heavy. It's a bit hard to change the sheets because it's so heavy to lift and tuck the sheet under. We are using it on a platform bed so there is no need for a box spring. This has not been what I was hoping for after spending all this money! I have the pillow top firm and it is lumpy in the middle and sinks where you sleep and only had this one month! I believe this is the worst I have ever slept on and hopefully can get something else! Sales lady talked me into a firm which I normally hate!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We started sleeping on our new Stearns and Foster mattress right away. We were on the market for a softer mattress so this one really fit the bill. The soft pillowtop is like sleeping on a cloud! I feel totally supported as I sleep. I also don't sink into the mattress. This is important, because you don't want to have trouble getting out of bed! The mattress is also cool - I never feel hot during the night time. I have always bought higher end mattresses, so I am not comparing this mattress to a cheaper mattress under $1000. If you want to invest in pure comfort, this is a fantastic option! I would recommend to anyone who needed a softer bed.

What a disappointment. Shoulder pain, upper back pain, and hot. Mattress is cool when you climb into bed, but after a few minutes the mattress is getting very warm. This causes me to toss and turn. I bought this at a retail shop and can't return it so I'm stuck with a mattress that is hot and uncomfortable. I called S&F's customer support and told me to buy a cooling mattress topper. Oh joy, more money to spend to fix their crummy mattress design. Makes you wonder if they did product testing. Overpriced. This mattress may end up on curb.

Purchased a very expensive estate mattress for second home in Florida. Only have slept on the mattress less than a month! The mattress is defective. Mattress sinks in when lying on it. I am a very petite woman who is older. STEARS & foster will not stand behind their products if you are out of their said warranty period NO EXCEPTIONS! THEIR COMMERCIALS ARE LIES. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY VERY DISHONEST COMPANY

I had a Stearns and Foster mattress a few years ago, but I had to donate it when we moved. I bought a different brand, but I woke up with lower back pain way too often. So recently, I decided I was going to buy another Stearns and Foster, and my back pain is gone. I will never buy another mattress!

I can honestly say, both my husband and myself are sleeping much better. We have had this mattress for a week now, and I waited until now to write the review because I wanted to give the mattress a fair and honest review. We have purchased several foam mattresses over the last 15 years, so it has been a while since we've slept on a mattress with springs. We have been talking about upgrading our mattress again, due to our mattress sinking and not allowing a full nights rest for either of us. When I was contacted to product test a Stearns and Foster mattress we jumped at the opportunity. I was going into this trial a little nervous about it being a firm pillow top, as usual I like softer mattress. However I have to admit, I am very pleasantly surprised at how comfortable and supportive this mattress is. My husband is thrilled that he no longer wakes up several times due to me changing positions. We both have noticed our sleep quality and morning pain has greatly improved. Although I do think I would enjoy the feel of a medium to soft pillow top, and my husband would prefer a little more cooling, we both agree this is the best mattress we had had in quite some time. One thing that really surprised us both is how high this mattress is. It definitely sits a lot higher on our bed than any of our old mattresses. I kind of have to hop into bed, but I'm a people mc nugget, so I'm used to things being to high for me.
