The meat was sweet and succulent. It tasted wonderful mixed into cream cheese for a spread. I didn't notice any crustacean pieces. There are 5 servings per container (1/3 cup) and it'd be perfect for crab cakes. Two things to be noted. First it's a product of Indonesia. Second, be careful after opening the plastic. Even though there's a metal pull-top underneath the plastic top, the product leaked a little. Not sure if it was condensation or crab juice. Final thought, the silver standard sustainable seafood makes me feel better about eating crab. I'm definitely buying this product again for special occasions!

You can smell the freshness as soon as you popped seal. I sat and ate 1/3 the can soon as I opened it! I would highly recommend anyone give this a shot if you love crab meat. It was precooked and there were no shells to deal with. It was so much crabmeat and the perfect amount to make what I needed with some leftover for another meal. I quickly went through and and did not find any shells. It's the consistency and shape of canned tuna with a handful of larger lumps. It kept moisture after cooking and was really good.

I have purchased several of these. Every package has "lump" meat on the top of the package and more shredded meat below. The meat on top of the package is very different from the meat below. I believe this is intentional and designed the deceive the shopper. For that reason, deducting two stars.

It comes in good sized pieces perfect for using in salads or other applications. Great just snacking on out of the container as well. It was absolutely delicious when I stuffed it into shiitake mushrooms to make stuffed mushrooms. I also had the tasty crabmeat for breakfast with my scrambled eggs. So many delicious recipes that this absolutely delicious crabmeat will enhance.
