I have very sensitive ears so I've always had to opt to wear earphones that don't go directly within my ear canal. I bought the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live and although they got the job done, they would hurt or fall after a while and battery was starting to deteriorate. I saw these Ultra Open Earbuds and was instantly hooked but after using these for almost a year, they have potential of being the best open earbuds but at the moment, they don't meet their pricepoint.
Cons:
1. Microphone: If you plan on using the microphone of these earbuds, don't bother. Every single call I've had with these, no one was able to hear me. I would either have to change input to the phone microphone or take one earbud out and hold it directly next to my mouth. At this point just advertise it as if there is no microphone.
2. Connectivity: I own a Samsung Galaxy S23+ and these buds are definitely not as seemless as the Samsung branded earbuds. I would sometimes run into issues where the buds would not connect to my phone forcing me to forget the buds and reconnect. Although I'm glad they implemented the dual connect feature, it would occasionally play off my second device instead of the current device I'm using which got slightly annoying.
3. Sound: In terms of sound quality, for open earbuds, they're good at providing rich sound while also maintaining your privacy from the outside. Yes, there is some leakage but it would only be noticeable in very quiet settings and you're playing at ~75%+ sound. My main concern from the sound is that the earbuds would randomly make loud cracking/crackling sounds, more frequently when initially taking them out of the case. This actually hurt my ears and now I'm more precarious when taking them out. I let them sit out for a bit prior to putting in my ear to avoid and these noises since it hurt my ears.
Pros:
Comfort: These are the most comfortable earbuds I've ever worn. Sometimes I would forget that they're in my ear and accidentally walk into the shower with them on. I love the design of it too and it has only fallen out once when I took a nasty fall when bouldering.
Battery: Better battery life than any truly wireless bud I've worn before. It almost makes it through my day and it recharges very quickly.
Features: Love how theres a physical button and the controls are easy to navigate. The app allows for more advanced features such as the equalizer tool and different modes/shortcuts which is a nice touch.
Overall, these are still my day to day buds because of how comfortable they are. If I knew this information prior to purchasing it, I most likely would've never spent the whopping 300 dollars on it mostly due to the microphone and sound issues.
