Great alternative to not shoving earbuds into ears
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great open ear buds that are comfortable for all day wearing. Easy to operate and they seamlessly connect to my iMac & iPhone. I enjoy the audio quality for both music and YouTube videos. My only complaint would be the phone quality and volume is lacking and can be improved. Overall these are better than the 1st sport open ear buds. Recommend for people like me who don’t care to shove earbuds into the canal.
Comfortable with good sound
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I upgraded my old soundsport earbuds for the ultra open earbuds. The ultra are very comfortable and won't come off on their own but can pop off from accidental physical contact with your hand, glasses, mask, etc. I recommend getting any color but black to make it easier to find when you drop them. I like the quality of the sound even though the street noise does come through (which it's supposed to do). These are not, nor are they meant to be, noise canceling. Walking around is a lot more fun while listening to music on these.
They suit me & my lifestyle
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I struggle with earbuds - can not keep them in my ears. These are a great solution for me. I forget I have them on when whatever I’m listening to ends. Sound is clear and also allows me to carry on in the world with chores, garden, dog walks. Changing clothes can knock them off. Wish there were a way to ‘find’ one when that happens.
Stays put with good sound quality!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have small ear canals so was looking for an outer ear option to listen to my podcasts while working out and gardening. These are great! Good sound quality and they don't move around even when I do. The only downside is they don't work as well as my shokz when pairing them with my iphone for phone calls.
Almost Perfect for Running
Awesome sound, but wish it was a bit brighter and stronger at higher volumes, which is needed for running. If I sit still in a quiet room it is quite nice. When I need at higher volumes, the EQ seems to change to a lesser brilliance & power. I’m still not sure. The thing I like best as a runner is no stomping sounds in the ear buds! So annoying! So, this aspect is great. But! I live great audio too. One running review said the Comfort version provides both stellar audio & no stomping feedback.
Great Bose Sound Quality, Long Battery Life
I have been using the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds exclusively for around a month now and my first impression was that the sound quality that Bose products are known for is there as always. This is the first time I've seen earbuds like these, where they somehow magically work by utilizing the ear pinna in contrast to being inserted into the ear canal. I suspect this will actually help protect hearing, while still being able to achieve great audio quality. I'm very familiar with Bose products, having used their noise-cancelling headsets (both wireless and wired) as well as their awesome aviation headset. Prior to getting the Ultra Open earbuds, I mostly use a competitors product named after a fruit...;) In any case, I actually think that the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds can fit a separate role outside of noise cancelling style of earbuds. First, if you are wanting to listen to music, podcast or whatever yet still want to actually hear what is going on around you, this is where these shine. It's not like wearing a cheap pair of earbuds that you by default can't hear your music when there is too much external noise though. These you can somehow hear important things (like the wife or kid talking to you), while still hearing your audio with perfect quality. Now while I would not recommend wearing earbuds/headphones while driving, these would be the only ones I'd feel comfortable wearing because I can still hear what's going on in the world outside. I also utilized the earbuds while exercising and doing farm work outside. They didn't fall out/off, though I did have to adjust them from time to time to keep it on the sweet spot of my ear for best audio quality. I would say that they stay on the ear better than the competitor product (named after a fruit). Now if you are trying to actually cancel out external sounds AND hear audio in your earbuds, these aren't really meant for that. I tried using them while working on my tractor and the tractor was simply too loud to hear my audio. Not a big deal though because like I said, these earbuds fulfill more of a role when listening to audio when you NEED to hear things externally. Battery life is seemingly infinite (I realize it's not really but it seems like it) when compared to the competitor product I mentioned. I haven't been able to actually deplete the batteries and have used them non-stop for 4 hours or so. I believe there is a battery saving feature of these earbuds where they seem to "turn on" only when audio is detected vs on at all times. It probably helps the battery too that there isn't any noise-cancelling. This battery saving feature did have one downside in limited circumstances though. When listening to something where audio is also intermittent (ie. Instagram Reels, language learning apps like Duolingo) you will sometimes have a slight delay when the earbuds will sense the audio then "turn on". To get around that you just have to replay whatever audio you are trying to listen to once you can tell the earbuds turned on (you will hear them turn on, though I don't know how to describe it). I kind of suspect that Bose may be able to do some software update to turn that feature off in the future (with the downside of reducing battery life?) but I have no idea if that is something that is possible. All in all, I would recommend the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds over any other competitor of a like product if you don't need the noise cancelling features.
Great earbuds!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought myself a pair of these a few months ago and was talking to my cousin about them. She had been using the ones apple makes and didn’t care for them so I let her try mine on and she loved them. I wound up buying her a pair for her birthday and she said she uses them constantly. Very good quality earbuds that we both highly recommend!
Highly recommend
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got these for my birthday and spent the rest of the day listening to music. I love the open fit because they don’t hurt my ears after listening for a while or get wax on them like in-ear headphones. The sound quality is impressive for an open fit and I really appreciate being able to hear what’s going on around me while still enjoying music.
Love
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love these ears buds. I love that nothing is being jammed into my ear canal and I can still be aware of my environment. They easily sync to my iPhone and have had no issues with them at all. The only thing that I miss is that they don’t auto pause when you take one out to start talking to someone. Also love the fact that they have colors other than white or black!
Just Ok for the $$$$
The biggest pro about these is the comfort and the open air, I did have to adjust to not having noise cancellation as I would strategically use this feature on other ear pods (loud traffic, crowds). The sound is also pretty good for open ear. But I have had mine for five months and they are already crackling and the pause button feature doesn’t respond consistently so that’s a bummer. And then when you do pause I have had multiple occasions where they disconnect from my Garmin. Not sure what that is all about. Maybe the next generations will improve in these areas.
