Better than most smart scales, not enough measuret

I had previously used the Starft scale which had 14 measurements/kpi's. Garmin gives 7. but the integration to other garmin tools is good, no more manual input. Garmin really needs to add more measures, especially since some are minor programming changes to their app such as adding %ages or ones that require simple math like weight minus x = y

Serial number not registered

After many hours troubleshooting, I finally got in touch with a rep who explained that there are a bunch of devices, like the ones sold through expert voice, whose serial numbers are not registered with Garmin, so they will not connect. They were aware of this issue; however, they did not check the device before sending it to me and thus waisted my time. I will submit a follow up review once everything is sorted out, but plan to pay more in your time if you purchase through expert voice.

It does what it says

The scale works well enough but is expensive for what it is. If I couldn't use my HSA I wouldn't have bought it. Features are nice but you take the stats with a grain of salt. Overall it's not bad but not amazing. It syncs well with the app but it's just ok.

Index scale

Been a huge Garmin fan. Just purchased the index scale reluctantly. Why reluctantly - I hate what they did to the connect app. So what do I like about Garmin and what have I purchased. Index BP monitor. Epix Saphire gen 2 watch. Club sensors, Garmin R10. Just wish they would listen to those who hate the stupid tile format in connect and give us the old format. Love the products hate the app designers at Garmin. I’d love to start using connect again once you fix it. I no longer use it to work out with as it’s useless.

Great Scale - one little annoyance

This scale works pretty amazingly. It's nice not to have to manually enter my weight anymore. It's also nice to get an estimate of the muscle mass, bone weight, and water weight. Even though my wife hates the idea, I also like that it shows the weather at the end. My morning routine is to weigh myself first thing, so it's nice to get a reminder of the weather without having to look at my phone. The only annoyance and the reason I dropped a star is that the instructions and the instructional video show that you can wake the scale by tapping it with your foot. Neither my wife nor I have been able to make this happen. I basically have to gently kick it from the side to get it to wake up. If I could actually just tap it to turn it on, it would be perfection.

Accurate weight but not accurate fat percentage.

I’ve been using this scale for about a month and comparing it to a couple other scales. The weight is always accurate. However, I’m about 18% body fat. The other scales pick up on that. The Garmin scale kept claiming I was 30+% body fat. I finally had to go in and manually change the body fat to 18% and after a week of changing the body fat to measured body fat, it started calling it 18% as well. If it really is measuring body fat via impedance, why did I have to manually put in the amount? The other scales didn’t need that. It syncs very well with the Garmin Connect app. It even knows which user is using the scale. I’m not sure how it knows. If you have multiple users for your scale, it’s GREAT at knowing which person is using the scale. The design looks really sharp. I do have to double tap it to get it go come on. Most scales you can just step on or tap. I’ve had to be really firm a couple times to get it to come on. It sounds sometimes on a tile floor like I’m kicking it. Overall it’s a good scale. If all I wanted was accurate weight, this scale is excellent. If you want things like hydration and body fat %, you’ll have to be patient and train it.

Convenient, clever, and accurate*

It looks sleek, works great, connects to your WiFi to automatically update data to your garmin connect app. It's dead accurate when it comes to weight measurements. I did a side by side with my calibrated wrestling slide scale. I don't know how accurate it is with water %, bone mass, fat% etc. It seems to fluctuate from reading to reading. Maybe do a hydro static body comp and compare?

Excellent Body Fat % and Integration w/ Connect

I have been using a smart scale for over four years and the body fat percentage has been wonky. With the Garmin I was able to calibrate with a DEXA scan (9.5%). My other scale indicated 14% in regular mode and 3% in athlete mode which is obviously way off the actual. The integration with Garmin Connect and Apple Health is flawless. My data and analysis from my Garmin Enduro 3 watch and Garmin BP allows me to track my training.

Tracking simplified

Very pleased with this scale and it's ability to transfer the information straight to my connect app. Two of use the same scale and we are 20 pounds apart so it has no difficulty recognizing which user is one the scale. The body fat average for the week is within less than half a percentage difference from my Dexa scans so I feel it's fairly accurate for that. The muscle mass is farther off from my Dexa scans so I'm not sure about accuracy there. Overall I'm very happy with this scale.
