I bought this to replace a competitor smart scale so I could have all my info in the connect app. I like this scale, but my only gripe is it just doesn’t turn on when you stand on it, unlike the competitors scale. With the garmin, you need to “tap” the surface, which basically means banging your foot on it until it wakes up. It’s ridiculous. I don’t understand why they couldn’t have it just wake up when you stand on it.

This is some of the worst piece of crap i have bought. It simply wont sync towards the Garmin cloud services. I have tried to reset it many times, with the same outcome. Without sync, none of the settings is applied to the weight, and the measurements is not registered in my Garmin account. The product will be returned.

We have compared the results of the garmins scale to several other scales and body analysis device and it seems to read quite high. Surprisingly a cheap scale was closer to the professional values. Not sure if we will keep it. Seems like these are all well known issues garmin is aware of but choosing not to address.

It works pretty good, i gave the scale 3 stars because it doesn't always "wake up" when trying to use it. I have to either pick the unit up and tilt it to "wake up" or have to remove and replace the batteries. The weight function seems to be accurate but not sure how accurate the other readings are.

I’m very happy with the scale and the features, but with multiple users that are about the same weight and the “tap” sensing that doesn’t provide any sensory feedback it is sometimes hard to select the right person. Maybe there should be some type of confirmation before logging it to Connect. The link to connect is sometimes wonky and unreliable. Like I said, good high quality Garmin product but not great in terms of usability.

The scale works fine when it wakes up. It takes touching the scale 2 or 3 times usually to do that. But, there are no great apps to show your progress in weight loss. If there are, I haven’t found them after many hours searching. It just shouldn’t be this hard. The scale I had before this one that linked to my FitBit wasn’t.

Of course necly integrated with my Garmin Connect account and health data.... decent reporting and okay on device controls and visuals. Disappointed the S1 had to be replaced as it did not last as long as solid state electronics should. But the S2 has some better screens on the scale and it seems a little more accurate/intelleigent.

I have had the S2 Smart Scale since it was released over 4 years ago. I love this scale. I love numbers and data about my health and this scale gives it to me. Last year I had to have a full hip replacement and because of this scale I was able to go back in my app several years and I could actually see how my muscle mass was declining and my weight had started increasing. Now I have started my new journey of weight loss and muscle gain and the S2 is there every morning to let me know where I am at with my goals. This scale tracks everything for you. All you have to do is step on it. Even lets you know the weather forecast for the day. I highly recommend this scale. Easy to set up and maintain. 4 AAA batteries that last a long time opposed to little watch batteries that you are replacing constantly.

Best feature by far is the WiFi syncing to the app. I have used Bluetooth scales before but they were annoying as you’d have to open the app on your phone and connect to sync the data. Garmin has a great solution to upload your data to the cloud to see in all devices in the Connect app. The design and aesthetics of the scale are also top notch. The screen is really nice, but would have been a nicer if it was slightly bigger. Some data screens such as trends are a bit hard to see so you have to bend down to really understand them. But otherwise when it displays your weight and other stats the screen is perfect. Much better than the old style screens that look like digital clocks. My one con with the scale is the “tap to wake” feature. The tapping doesn’t always work and there is a slight lag to when the screen turns on. Sometimes I’ll have to tap it multiple times with increasing pressure. It would be great if you could just step on and it woke up and started taking your measurements instead of tapping.

I love all the data this scale provides, and when using the GarminConnect app, it tracks it over time nicely as well. It helps to learn how the scale calculates the information it reports beyond just weight, but it's fascinating to see all the results. After a couple of weeks, this is working great, and our whole family loves checking in regularly.
