Look at reddit and other sites and you’ll see same issues. Sound drops/blips often. Every few days i had to power cycle the soundbar so earc would work/pair. Sound is ok but with the constant need to manually touch the bar. It wasn’t worth it. I returned it.
Poor sound but there is a hack to improve it
Realistically this sound bar is not very good however, if you have a very thin nasty sounding speaker on your flat panel this will undoubtedly be a very modest upgrade but there are some large caveats here. I noted that some have complained about the subwoofer being too boomy and not very good sounding. I will say this, it does tend to overwhelm the other audio an requires a fairly low setting and careful placement in the room. To be honest the sub may be the best part of this bar’s out of the box qualities. Here is the bad thing about the soundbar though, it just really is not that great sounding. The one thing in audio you want to get right is the midrange and this bar does a horrible job with it no matter how you tweak the settings. It's muffled (like you have cotton in your ears) and thin sounding. The treble is tinny and it severely lacks mid-bass. The surround sound is veiled and thin and you cannot adjust the sound from the rear speakers other than volume. The sound stage is very narrow and there is no real fix for it. Ok, so all that said there is a way to greatly improve its performance and make it an acceptable solution but you have to be luck y enough to have a Wiim Pro Plus or the like to do so. If you have something where you can do optical in and out such as the Pro Plus, you can run a spdif through it and use the graphic EQ in the Wiim or other device to fix most of the sound issues particularly the midrange so that voices do not sound muffled. The only bad part of this is that the Vizio bar does not seem to process true dolby through any connection other than the HDMI, so that is the trade-off you will be making. All in all, I have to give it only 2 stars because out of the box it's really not very good at all and it takes quite a bit of fuss to make it even sound acceptable and even then, you are trading off true dolby processing if you use the optical spdif\eq hack.

upgrade from the LG 4.1 Sam’s sells
Over a year ago I bought the LG 4.1 system Sams sells and it was good for the money UNTIL the sound started cutting out and the sound balance began getting wonkey. When I can’t understand the dialogue on even a movie I’ve seen with academy award winning g sound mixing I know it’s time for the system to go. Sams had this Vizio system on rebate for $249.99 at their Fresno store and it comes with HDMI ARC and Dolby Atmos which the LG does not. I bought this system and from what I’m hearing this is a HUGE UPGRADE. Set up is unique if you’ve never used HDMI arc before but once I figured out it connected to my TV and worked on all my apps and other inputs I was set. If you can nab this system on rebate do it. Only gave 4 stars because I know there are better systems out there that are more user friendly.

ALERT: model shipped is not same as advertised here. The model advertised here as 980304670 and model M51a-H says it includes FOUR cables (Optical/3.5mm/USB/HDMI) but what I received is a model H6 which has only one cable, an HDMI/Arc which doubles as an eARC. While that one cable gives you all the state of the art FX, it does not connect to an older TV that has only optical and/or coax audio as DIGITAL OUT which means you will have to buy one of those cables separately (extra time + hassle). Sams was not able to explain why they shipped a different model no. than advertised but offered a price adjustment for the inconvenience factor of having to return it to the store from which it was bought (at a different/lower price than the ship option).

Exceptional audio w/ easy remote integration
I'm very familiar with Dolby, D. Atmos and DTS sound systems having purchased five soundbars in the past for customers and myself but this particular Vizio was another purchase just for me. INCREDIBLE soundbar. I am impressed. Mind you, I am using a Firestick for my audio/video and watching on a 65" Samsung TV. I've purchased Samsung soundbars in the past and have had some troubles but not with this Vizio. Vizio has several advances in soundbar technology with this unit. I cannot put the "rear" speakers behind me with the layout in my apartment. Vizio fixes this with the ability to have them placed forward at the screen with a setting that lets all the speakers face at you for full immersive. I have the main unit soundbar wall mounted just under the TV. The sub-woofer is off to the right of the TV several feet on floor and the two "surround" speakers are mounted on the wall, 2" above the TV at each corner of the screen. I've programmed the unit for "front surround" and bam! Incredible immersive envelops the whole room with a huge, deep feel of sub base just at the right moment. Next, the issues I have had with Samsung soundbars was the remote control not integrating with the TV. This was my fear all along buying this Vizio but...was I impressed. This Vizio recognized my Firestick and the TV (of course, got to use the HDMI ARC port). My TV does not have eARC, no matter. I am using ONLY the Firestick remote control to adjust volume on the Vizio. The soundbar even cut the sound off the TV speakers without me doing a thing. I call that an advance in technology. Lastly, I thought to try the BlueTooth portion of the Vizio. WOW! Connected right to my Smart phone. I am blasting cool tunes from my phone straight to the soundbar and using my phone's volume control to control the soundbar volume. Incredible integration. Incredible technology. If I had just one thing to maybe complain about...my particular box did not have a manual so I have had to go online to figure out what all the options were and how to use the remote. Not sure if this was intentional by Vizio or there was a mishap in packaging but either way, I have been thrilled with this unit.
Below Average at best
First I am an unbiased customer, not paid for the review. I’ve had sound bars from Samsung, Vizio and Martin Logan. This one is by far the worst. No WiFi, sub rarely makes sound and the worst part is the center speaker in the sound bar itself. I have tried several configurations, all the presets, resetting, unplugging and a system reset. After all that the center is still barely noticeable, the “surround” speakers barely produce sound and when they do the clarity is average at best. I tried so many times to make this thing work but I hate it. Spend the extra money for something better.

Great system, bad HDMI cable
Finally clear dialogue. Easy to setup and sounds great! I had a lot of issues with echoing and delay between audio and video. Long story short, DO NOT use the supplied HDMI cable. Swapped it out for a high quality one and that fixed all of my issues.
