Simple but great system

Well packaged, easy to set up, and great sound. Replaced an old Sony system. Love that the subwoofer is wireless and the two satellite speakers plug into it eliminating the need to run speaker wires to the other side of the living room. There is a lot of customization that can be done to the system to adjust the levels of the front and rear speakers and make dialogue more easily heard on shows and movies. The Bluetooth allows me to have the audio from my iPhone or iPad go though the surround system. We don’t have a 4K TV so haven’t been able to test the Dolby Atmos feature yet but overall very happy with the system.

Easy Install and Rich Sound

It was more trouble taking down an ancient DVD player that included sound and lots of wires. Like the display on the remote for setting up the sound values. Much better than a full receiver. The cables to link the rear speakers to the subwoofer are generous in length. The volume level that shows up on the Vizio tv helps family member keep the sound down where it's not annoying.

Everything I expected and more!

I bought this to replace my older Vizio 5.1 that was ready to be retired. If you don’t want to spend the big bucks but you want to get the performance of one this is worth the money! If you have trouble understanding voices over sound this definitely is the answer! It took some adjustments to get voice and sound balanced out to my liking and I have to admit I did get frustrated with it! But after doing some research I figured it out. I like that there were different setting options to choose from based on your individual needs and taste. Vizio definitely made some improvements to this new system!

Overall very happy, BUT...!

Bought this to replace an aging and inoperative high end stereo system. Set up was very easy and everything (all cables, cords, etc.) were in the box along with instructions which were very helpful. The FOUR-star rating was because to get the full performance from the system, it took me doing a lot of trial and error. I had to turn OFF the Tru-Tone (?) feature, as it was limiting the volume for TV and other applications, as in less than half the volume for, say, music. This was NOT made clear in any of the instructions I read. Overall, sound is very good and no wires on the floor are a huge plus for my wife. Just keep playing with the remote until it functions the way you want it to. Out of the box there are limitations. Enjoy!!!

Decent sound bar if you can deal with HDMI in

Some connection issues with HDMI-In (not HDMI- E) cuts in and out when switching sources and there is a delay when turning on tv. Tried updating firmware but not sure if it worked. Also, the speakers are very sharp for my taste, not as sharp as horns but close.

Beware of the paid reviews

Not good, major problem with HDMI eArc connection. I have the latest model of Vizio TV still the input signal from HDMI eArc is not consistent and you have to power on and off to re-establish the connection. Firmware update won't help, this is a serious device problem. Sound quality is mediocre with false Dolby effect which you can easily feel after listening to some premium Soundbars

Big bass, but the rest is a pass.

I wasn’t very impressed. I don’t think my living room is very large. Perhaps it needs to be in a smaller room with walls that are equal distance from the center speaker. It has a good sound. Just sounds kinda thin. Like an iPhone speaker, if the subwoofer isn’t blasting.
