The coffee is a little bitter for my taste. I often drink my coffee black or with a splash of creamer. I tried the coffee black first so that I could taste the coffee. I will be adding creamer to the rest of the cups I drink. I prefer a smooth Costa Rican coffee. The mix of beans isn’t really my cup of coffee. What a wonderful combination of flavors that go beyond the basic coffee. Boyer's Coffee goes the extra mile to provide this blend of beans sourced from 3 different locations. I put the beans in my coffee grinder for a quick spin before I used the grounds in my drip coffee maker to make a wonderful pot of coffee. I plan to cool the leftover coffee, refrigerate it & use it in an iced coffee tomorrow. With a 'dark roast' I like to add more water than the 'brewing instructions' call for to customize it to my preference and then the bag makes more coffee. Some dark roast coffees can be bitter but this has an unbelievably smooth taste ! With the sweetness of dark cherry& milk chocolate and touch of toasted nuts, it has become my fave! The aroma alone is amazing!!! Excellent quality AND excellent value!

But it's not a sweet coffee...it's very bold. I have to say this is my new favorite coffee. It's way less bitter than other coffees. It's just delicious.

I believe I may have found my new favorite coffee! First of all it smelled amazing while grinding up the beans. I loved the “mash-up” of flavors and I really could taste the chocolatey, the nutty, and a hint of cherry from the first sip. It was so smooth, strong, and in my opinion not bitter at all. I purchased this coffee multiple times over the last year, specifically to make cold brew coffee at home. Hands down makes the best cold brew coffee I've ever tasted! I've coined it my *caffeinated chocolate milk* becuase that's what it tastes like, delicious chocolate milk (at least with my preparation). I have enjoyed a cup with limited sweetener and its equally as good, every time.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the whole bean Mash-Up (Peru + Columbia + Honduras) dark roast and ground it at home. Typically I pour-over but I decided to French press to get the strongest flavor and impact out of the coffee and was very pleasantly surprised. My first impression was how beautiful and shiny the beans were. They smelled AMAZING. This coffee was full bodied without being bitter or acidic. It was quite smooth and didn't have that acidic bite that some full bodied roasts can have. I drank a cup black and then I added a sweet cream creamer to my second cup, just to see what it was like and it was like dessert. The chocolatey nutty sweetness was everything I would like to enjoy on a daily basis and can't think of a single downside to enjoying this bean. This is the perfect dark roasted morning brew!

There is nothing like the satisfaction of grinding your own coffee and getting that fresh smell. I ground the whole beans in my hand grinder and then brewed it in my coffee maker. The taste is awesome! I highly recommend this brand and can’t wait to try other flavors they have!
