Where to start.... the battery cover has no seal and is a cup shape on the bottom of the lantern. The silver lining is the hook on the bottom means there are small holes in the battery cover to release any water that may accumulate although I would not use these if there was any chance of moisture. My Orbtronics Panasonic 18650 button top batteries don't work in this lantern as the plastic housing for the positive connector is too thick. The provided 18650 batteries do work but are noticeably fatter than my other 18650s, resulting in physical damage (indentations) from the battery cover. The light produced by the lantern is nice and bright, but needs diffused at is harsh to look in the lanterns general direction indoors. I obviously returned these lanterns after unboxing.

This lantern is amazing. Some tech nerd decided to come up with every cool feature you could stuff into one lantern. You can use AAs to run it or use the rechargeable battery. It's a magnet and can stick to your refrigerator. It has hooks for hanging. It's a flashlight or a lantern. It's SO BRIGHT. You want this when the power goes out.

I really liked the dual power feature, pulled one light out pf package and the regular batteries. Light turn on a total of 2 times and then would not turn on a third time, the top would not slide all the way into the bottom any more. clearly something mechanical inside the light broke or malfunctioned. I did not test the other light or the rechargeable battery, I packaged it back up and returned it to sam's. DO NOT and I repeat do not purchase these if they are going to be your only source of light.

I intended to keep this on my hurricane preparedness box since we live in Florida. Was very excited to have a dual power lamp in case we lost power. Got the 1st set and the charger portion did not work but the battery compartment did. Called Sams and they sent me a replacement. Unfortunately the replacement was the same way. Called Sams so they can investigate if this is a bad batch or what. It must be. Quite sad because our family needs this item

Love it! Works great 2 in a pack and good price. Flash light is very bright and goes a long distance. Lantern is also bright. Magnets and handles make it easy to hang where ever u need.

The lantern has all the great qualities for a light source, but 1st time I dropped it, the red lens broke off. 1 of the 4 hooks that kept the red lens attached to the lantern broke off immediately. So, it's hanging on by 2 wires and eventually it's hanging on with 1 wire attached. It seems to be working fine unless you drop it.

I purchased these for the rechargeable batteries that came with them. The batteries alone retail for $30 each. I picked the lights up when they were on sale for 15. I took my granddaughter fishing the other night. I had lent my good area light to my son, so I took these lights instead. These lanterns lit up the area surprisingly well. I like that they take regular AA batteries and the rechargeable. These should get me through an extended power failure pretty well.
