Good beginners' rower that isn't horrible.
I have used the rower 4-5x/week for 3 months now as part of warmup and/or cooldown routines. I like the high resistance from the rower. However, the apps are basically useless. I just use the built-in stats on the dash. It is very clunky and difficult to fold and it doesn't fold very well at all. It still takes up a lot of space when folded. Wish it would just stand upright without folding. For the price, I would probably spend a little more and get an actual good one.
Davidson

We are glad to hear that you like the resistance abilities on this rower, but we are sorry you don’t like the design of it and that the apps don’t meet your needs. We do our best to design products that can work for everyone’s needs but we understand that everyone has different preferences when working out.

If you have questions regarding your unit, you are always welcome to contact us at my.iFIT.com.

Thanks! – ProForm – Powered by iFIT
I would buy it again!
Love this rower! The rower came with a 1 year free subscription to the online training videos. Quite frankly, I tried the videos, but have ended up bypassing the online feature and using the rower without the videos...setting my own resistance and rowing for time. The rower is sturdy, smooth, and folds up easily for storage. I love the phone/ipad holder. Put on Netflix/Hulu/Prime on my ipad and row away. The rower tracks calories, time, and many other stats. Noise isn't an issue...very quiet.
Hi Michelle, thanks for your comments and review. It is a sweet piece of equipment. For a variety you may want to try iFit to row in beautiful locations around the world. For more info visit www.ifit.com. Good luck to you on reaching your fitness goals!
Easy to put together; strong enough for home use; smooth seat and smooth pull (it uses a nylon belt similar to a seatbelt; not a chain like higher end machines); you don’t need an iFit membership to use it; just hold the iFit Bluetooth button for about 20-30 seconds and the machine is reset for regular use; it works like any conventional non-internet connected rower; overall I’m happy with it considering the price and that it’s in stock
Fantastic Rower!!
I really love this rower! I love that I feel like I'm getting cardio AND weight lifting in the same exercise routine, which you'd get with any rower. But this one from ProForm is super quiet, and the seat is so comfortable and really smooth as it glides. The screen is really easy to see all my stats, and there's a super convenient tablet holder above it that has a spring in it that clamps down and keeps my phone or iPad from falling out. I was able to set everything up very quickly and turned on iFit Coach to row with one of the trainers right away. It was awesome that the rower would automatically change the resistance levels when the trainer was talking so I didn't have to press any buttons to get the workout he wanted me to have. Really, the only thing that concerns me is that the pull strap is just a nylon strap, instead of a metal rope, so I'm just not sure how long-lasting that will be. But it's not a big deal. Overall, I'm really, really happy with this rower. It looks and performs awesome, and I would definitely recommend it to others. I was given this product for a reduced price in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
Love it So Far
Pros: This is a sturdy, quiet, and attractive rower with no noise from the flywheel and only slight noise from the seat. The rower can be used at any time without disturbing others. There is enough resistance to challenge me, a non-athletic person, for decades. The rower is also easy on my joints. Novices like me should start with some tutorials. I learned that my form was wrong, and I got a blister on my hand from gripping the handle too hard. Con: iFit requires a credit card to use the product, and the entire amount is billed up-front. You must cancel within the first 30 days to get a refund. Other Info: IFit Cardio. I have not used iFit enough to evaluate it entirely, but I am exercising more intensely and sweating compared to when I work out on my own. There are a good number of videos, including tutorials on proper rowing form. You do not get live rowing classes. For now, that seems to be reserved for the top-of-the-line NordicTrack (NT) RW900 rower, explaining why some instructors talk to us as if we are on a NT. Proform and NT are under the same parent company Icon Fitness, so I had to use my old NT treadmill password to register the rower. It does not seem possible to fast forward the tutorials or view them offline. Also, rowing is likely newer to iFit than cycling and running, which are heavily feature on the iFit website. The app update history shows that iFit makes regular updates to improve the user experience. Setup: Setup was OK, but the instructions were not great, for example, the directions had us looking for parts that were pre-attached. Tip: If the console is stuck on “HELLO,” pressed and hold the blue iFit sticker/button on the console for about 10-15 seconds, then let go once it starts the reset. Console Video: A tablet up to 10” or a smartphone can be attached to the console. The videos can also be mirrored onto supported TVs from compatible mobile devices, for example, from android smartphones with screen mirroring to smart TVs or through a Roku streaming device. I also tested Apple Airplay on an iPad/iPhone through Apple TV. Walmart: I love dealing with Walmart because its customer service is reliable, and the shipping/pickup options are convenient. The peace of mind is worth missing an iFit perk ordering direct from Proform.
Thanks for your detailed comments and review. Good luck to you in reaching your fitness goals!
Great rower gives a great workout
I have loved this rower since receiving it a few weeks ago. The set-up is very simple and can be done with only one person even though it recommends two people. In all, it took me 20 minutes to set up as there are very few pieces. All you need is a Phillips screwdriver and an adjustable wrench. The rower itself is very discreet. It’s quiet (can easily get a good workout in without anyone in another room hearing a thing) and can easily stow away into a right space so as to not be in the way. There are many more resistance settings than other rowers I have used, which creates a great manual workout, but I especially enjoy the iFit program that allows me to select workouts that fit my time schedule and workout goals. The videos are motivating and make the workout experience much more enjoyable overall. The app also tracks performance in order to help you monitor your progress. I got the rower in order to supplement my regular workout routine when I couldn’t get to the gym, but it’s been the perfect piece of equipment by itself during the quarantine period. iFit offers loads of cross training options to help get me a dynamic workout in every day if needed. Overall, highly recommend this rower and look forward to using it even more going forward.
Excellent machine.
This is a very nice rower. Very sturdy, easy to "fold up" to make smaller for additional space in the room. So quiet -- you can hardly hear it so watching TV while rowing is super easy. Many options for resistance so good for many different family members with an array of fitness levels.
Decent rower, subscription bundling is annoying
like the features and the pull / reach. Difficult to get started with the obligatory subscription that you have to start (and then quickly cancel) before it even allows you to work out with it. still trying to figure out how to get it to show meters rowed instead of cycling through cals, minutes, etc. probably should have just bought the Concept 2 to be honest. overall, it's ok.
Great buy for any skill level
This is an awesome stater rower. I really like the space saver ability, as well as the smooth operation of the unit. As a bigger person, the seat rolled very well under my weight. My favorite part was how the I fit program linked with the rower and allowed me to do beginner workouts that showed me proper form and worked up to advanced workouts. If you forget your phone/tablet the onboard workouts were great as well. The low impact and smooth operation are great for me because of a back issue. I was able to fit both my tablet and my phone in the device holder, but the holder did not allow for my phone to be held sideways without pushing the power button or the volume buttons on my phone. There is no comparison to my older rower. This was easy to set up and easy to use. I was given this product for a reduced price in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
After my husband was injured, he wanted to find some way he could still get in a good workout with less pressure on his joints. He already enjoyed rowing, but we didn’t have the room for a huge rowing machine in our home. This machine is perfect for our situation. I love that it folds up and wheels out easily, so we can store it in our closet and pull it out daily to use. It stays out of the way and out of sight when not in use and isn’t to heavy to move out every day. We have been using this rower for several weeks now and have experienced no problems. The machine works well, the iFit program makes workouts more fun, and we both enjoy the tracking features. I was given this product for a reduced price in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
Thanks for your comments and review of our product. Good luck to you and your husband on reaching your fitness goals!
