This is a good product. The portions are vacuum sealed in 3s so they stay fresh. Unlike a certain competitor. The seasoning packet is good. I do drain the fat off mine but that's no biggie. I can feed me, my mom, my man, and the teenage boy with six portions and an onion and some peppers. For the cost of one small steak sandwich out we can all eat steak! My favorite is to add some pizza sauce and black pepper.

I initially bought and cooked this shaved steak for Philly Cheesesteaks. I quickly learned that this is a freezer essential for nights when i don't know what i want to eat. I have used them to make fajitas, chinese dishes and anytime that i need a beef-based side dish. And the grandchildren love them in tacos. They dont always carry these at my Sams. I have four boxes in my freezer.

Great flavor with the WOW seasoning. Very versatile.. we cooked up the whole box. One night we had cheese steak subs, cheese steak wraps and another night we added about 2-3 packs into Velvetta Stroganoff instead of using ground beef. The whole family loved it. Honestly the meat was delicious and juicy all by its self. This will be a regular pickup on our shopping list.

This steak is pretty good, but lacks seasoning. The seasoning you get is not sufficient to flavor the steak, not a huge problem as I added seasoning to make it really good, but would be nice if it came with enough/better seasoning to make it really good on it's own. If you only use the seasoning it came with, this steak will be pretty unflavorful. Despite the seasoning, this steak itself is good and is a fast and convenient way to make a cheese steak, and I will definitely buy again.

Just tried it for the first time. Used it to make Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches. Cooked it in a skillet in its frozen state, as directed, and I used the seasoning packet that came with the steak. The meat cooks very quickly, comes apart very easily and browns nicely. It's very tender and perfect for Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches! BTW, I use ghee in place of ALL oils these days. High burn point (like olive oil) but smells like butter and has almost no taste. You can get a BIG jar (shipped) from Sam's, too.

It was quick and delicious!! The season pack is really good wish the season packet was bigger but I just added some of my own and bam I had awesome steak sandwiches to dip like French dips also it's great just to eat with some veggies for dinner. will be buying again for sure!!

For making cheesteaks at home they work great. I cook sauteed onions, take them out, then cook the steaks on high heat for 30 to 50 seconds on each side then season with the packet and a little msg. I then start breakin down the steaks and pour back the onions and leave on high until the juices are almost evaporating. Decrease the temp to med and place american cheddar cheese on top and let it start melting. Once the cheese starts to melt, don't let it melt completely, briefly mix with the beef and onion mixture and pour into some good bread. Btw I use Sams hoagie loafs. I put them in the air fryer at 400 for about 8 minutes, flip, and anothe 5 minutes. Then cut it lengthwise with a sharp or serated knife, remove as much dough from the inside as you can then pour the cheesesteak mixture inside. The bread will be crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside and holds the cheeseteak mix perfectly. I know its a huge bag of bread but, it freezes well. Ive used it without issues 3 months in the freezer. Anyway now to my point. The steaks release enough fat that make me strongly distrust the nutrional information. Furthermore, out of the box they definitely do not look like just 7 grams of fat. Besides that, I love them. Having a box of steaks and some rolls in the freezer let me make a cheesteak or two, a very good one,in my kitchen in about 20 minutes. The most laborous part is dicing the onions.

This was recommended to me by a friend because I love Philly Steak and cheese. I have tried the Kroger® Beef Shaved Steak that is in the fresh meat section for about $6.50/lb and wasn't impressed with flavor. I would say that Gary's taste better but I still get a little "wang" of old beef fat flavor. It cooked up ok but since you cook it frozen, there seemed to be a lot of water that had to cook out, thereby almost making it steamed or boiled and a little rubbery. I preheated my iron skillet in order to prevent this because they don't cool down as fast as a regular non stick pan but it still had a good amount of moisture. Their 1 seasoning packet (called WOW (haha, really?) wasn't even enough for one of the sections in the 3 pack, much less for all 3!! Seriously I couldn't even taste it mixed into the 3 sections of meat. Added my own granulated garlic and onion (Member's Mark) as well as salt and pepper. A big PLUS though for Gary's is the fact they don't try to hide taste with a ton of added salt!! For 1 of the 3 sections (they call it piece) there is only 55 grams of sodium, the WOW seasoning measured at 1/4 tsp is 360 grams so I'd say that the majority of it is salt. After toasting hoagie bun and topping it with sautéed onions and sweet bell peppers and provolone cheese, it was an enjoyable sandwich. Overall, I will probably buy it again and cook individual sections separately or put them on my flattop grill so the moisture doesn't boil the meat. I am a more sensitive to the flavor of fats so I'd say most people wouldn't even notice it.

These are so good. They are real beef with just enough fat to give it an amazing flavor.
