Bought this at Sams in Ontario ca. When I opened it up at home the next morning, the beans smelled ranced!:( The date on the bag was Oct 13, 2013!! 9 months ago! Makes me not want to shop there again! That being said, Normally Peets MD blend is superb. Strong dark coffee, but smooth. Love it!

I have bought Pete's coffee on occasions during the past few years, usually Major Dickason's Blend, it does taste a bit bitter, I think Pete's should label what is in the mix on the package. I way prefer Groundwork's Organic coffee, I love Organic Black Magic, notes of Dark Chocolate and Red Berries or Organic Black Gold with notes of Chocolate and Hazelnuts. Food for Thought. I was raised in France, Italy and Switzerland where the coffee is amazing.

Website says they roast major Dickinson twice a week and coffee ships same day. Not true, my bags were both roasted a week prior. More important the beans are very oily, almost look wet. My understanding is roasted beans should be completely dry. It's our true oily beans ate over roasted or not fresh? Not happy with Peets.

I worked for a company in Seattle to deliver coffee to offices. I could drink any brand we carried and it was ALL MAJOR BRANDS you could think of. Once I found Major Dickinsons I have never looked back. That was in 2005 and still must have Major Dickinson every morning since. I no longer work for that company but ALWAYS HAVE IT...

So I usually buy this coffee in 20 oz bags at my local Wegman's, and it's my top favorite coffee I drink. I'm not a coffee nerd by any means, I just like a really good dark roast first thing in the morning. I will continue to purchase this product over and over again, thanks Peet's!

On Christmas day 2016 My stepmother gave me a brand new never opened Major Dickason's Blend Decaf. I drink Cameron's coffee in the morning and decided to try the decaf in the afternoon with a snack. I have to say it's really good. I put most of it in a large glass jar to keep it fresh and I will be using the leftover from the bag first. I have to say the coffee isn't bitter and has a nice rich taste to it for non flavored coffee. I'll just be sad when it's finally gone, since I can't order online and you don't have it available that I know in Wisconsin. I love the smell of it too, it has a great smell and taste to it. The only reason I gave it four stars is because I want to drink it for awhile to put it to the test.

We have it two time's hot and two time's with ice coffee it's that good!
