Beans are indeed oily. Flavor is very roasted and strong. Bitter. Not nearly as smooth as other coffees I enjoy that are still dark roasted. Not impressed.

I didn’t try the beans but my husband & son really like this one in the K cups. Ima tea drinker. If Sams could sell the big box of K cups in this exact one and the alma de la tierra in this brand is also good. It’s organic.

Best coffee on a consistent basis. Besides the full bodied, true cup of quality coffee; this coffee is better than any I've ever used, to not create major acid reflux. A bonus on top of a great, quality cup of coffee!

For those looking for a dark roast without the sweet, fruity, or chocolate hints. This is it. Dark, but smooth. A very nice blend. Wish Sam’s would start carrying the very difficult to find decaf version As well.

My favorite coffee in the Peet's family. Dark, robust and smooth a rare mix of excellence. The Holiday is seasonal (my all time favorite Peet's) so this comes in 1st every time I am low I need to restock it.

This makes a wonderful cold brew and a good cup of regular coffee. It's hard to find dark roast coffee that comes off as smooth instead of burnt especially in cold brew. Just gained a new return costumer.

I have a special tie to the Major D blend. I knew him personally since I was a teenager. He use to have all of us who would be in his home try his coffees. My brother who became his son-in-law was his biggest tester. He is always in our hearts

Decently enjoyable, I preferred this as a cold brew for sure. As a cold brew it was more mellow but still managed to be distinctive. This is for the lover of dark roasts but maybe not for someone who's trying coffee for the first time.

I have been drinking MD for the last seven years, but lately I have found it to be less complex, less flavorful in taste. The process of preparing it is consistent. Wife and friends agree that my coffee is not up to snuff anymore.
