Just Purchased iGen4500DF on 5/21/21 received 5/24/21 Ordered Altitude Kit Part# 140569 5/29/21 Will Leave Full Review 3 Months from now. After Break In & some run time! and after... I receive my Bonus item of a New Westinghouse Generator Cover!

Just added the oil, connected the battery, installed the hose and regulator, turned the switch on and pressed the on button on the remote. It started immediately and I could not believe how quiet it runs. I'll test it out in the next 2 weeks on our first camping trip of the season but it made a 5 Star first impression.

I liked my brothers Westinghouse 4500 he uses for his B-Class RV so much I purchased one for my 5TH Wheel RV. One note of interest we used his to run what we needed at our lakeside RV site for both his Class B and a 29' Travel Trailer piggy backed for an overnighter. The 4500 did an incrediblly awesome job.

I bought this unit due to it having the duel fuel and other features of the three ways to start the unit. the only con I have is the oil fill tube requires it to be firmly screwed in when filling the unit with oil. The noise level is very quite for a inverter of this size.Very happy with my purchase

I am getting older and wanted a smaller and quieter source of back up power than my 20 year generator which is now difficult to start and makes enough noise to wake up our entire block. For a replacement I wanted the following items. Enough wattage (this is plenty as a backup), portability/mobility (wheels make this simple/low profile), dual fuel flexibility, ease of starting, and not as loud as my outdated generator. This unit met all the criteria and was the perfect fit for my household. Starting it is a breeze and the low noise factor is great.

I had an issue with my gen after about 20 hours into a two week boondocking trip so I called the number on the side of the unit. I had registered my igen4500df so the process was seamless. They sent me a new unit within 4 days ! Westinghouse gens are the best I’ve ever owned!

I purchased this unit in September of 2022 and overall the unit is very reliable and well designed. The one feature I would rate poor is related to changing oil. There is virtually no room to work in the access compartment and spillage of oil is guaranteed. Very poor design and I’m amazed that Westinghouse permitted this. I contacted Westinghouse regarding this problem and the person I talked with said she would “let someone know”.

Haven't had a chance to use over night. Setup was fairly easy altho oil service was a little tricky, overserviced and had to drain it some. Hooked up battery, filled with fuel and cranked after 2 start attempts. I know 2 people with these same generators and they love them.

This generator is great and purrs like a kitten right out of the box. I use mainly propane and this one is super simple to get up and running on LPG. I had issues with comparable generators from other brands on LPG but so far, not a single hiccup with this one. Runs everything i need it to run ... Extremely happy with this one!

I bought an iGen5000DFc (why is it also referred to as iGen4500Dfc?) about two weeks ago and all I have done with it so far is ran the break-in period for about seven hours and changed the oil after the initial oil fill. The unit appeared to have had a hard drop during shipping. Both the upper and lower styrofoam packing was broken and both access panels were popped open. There was a hole in the shipping box and the battery strap is missing. The User Manual is vague and in some cases misleading regarding the operation of the unit. There is a great deal of warning information but operating and maintenance information took reading and rereading and visits to Youtube to figure out. There is very limited information regarding the Data Center but I eventually figured out most of it on my own. My biggest problem was with the small sizes of the two access panels. After skinning up my hands plugging in the battery and searching for the still missing battery strap I went to the oil access panel and used the screw in funnel that was provided for the initial oil fill which worked out good. After the five hour recommended break-in period I wanted to change the oil which I do on all my new engines. This was a problem. The block drain fitting does not line up with the access panel but after some finesse and more skinned knuckles I drained the oil. Putting the fitting back in was another problem but with a combination of wrenches, sockets and duct tape got the job done. I suggest having your engineering designers take a look at this issue as I expect it to be a problem for many unless they have access to some special wrenches and small dexterous hands.
