Does is all.

After a resent storm that left us without power for 3 days we started looking for a generator. With Covid our kids are home for school and we needed power so they wouldn't miss any. This should fit our needs perfectly. Since we were going to be running computer equipment we went with an inverter (better on sensitive equipment). We are able to run both our refrigerators and several other circuits to give us lights and internet. Love that it comes with a small tool kit, oil and funnel.

Easy to use, so quiet

Purchased unit on sale 3 weeks ago and just getting around to adding oil, connecting fuel (propane) and starting the generator. The included instruction manual is quite detailed, useful, and important to follow. (I did find however that the "Quick Start Guide" while helpful, forgot an early key step of attaching the battery'; beware). The unit started easily after all the setup steps were completed. Started sequentially with the push button, the key fob and via manual cord pull. All approaches worked easily. The generator runs so quietly compared to my old Briggs gasoline-powered 5000W non-inverter unit. I think I will really like this system. It will be used for house backup power during power outages.

great first impressions

I just opened my igen4500df and first impressions are impressive. Added the included oil with the funnel provided, installed the battery, hooked up the regulator to a propane tank and it started up and idled instantly! This generator is incredibly quiet, you can easily have a conversation right next to it. I purchased this for running my RV and have not used it to power anything quite yet.

Great Generator

I have been waiting to purchase this generator for 6 month because everyone was out of stock. I thought about buying other dual fuel generators that were in stock but I’m glad I didn’t. This generator was worth the wait with it’s great power rating and features like remote start. I just took it out of the box hooked up the battery add gas and oil and it started on the first press of the button. Hooked up my propane flipped the switch and it was running on propane. What a great little generator perfect for powering my trailer.

Seems great BUT ...

... but do NOT follow the instruction "pour the entire bottle of oil into the engine". Maybe I got lucky and they sent me extra oil, but now I have a large oil stain on my deck. Otherwise, seems great - its pretty awesome to be able to turn on a generator with a key fob instead of dislocating my shoulder with the recoil start

More features than I realized.

Great machine! I live in Northern California and bought it in anticipation of the next power shut down. I had read other reviews and was really anxious to pick one up, but they had been out of stock wherever I looked. When I saw that it was available again, I picked one up. I was so impressed, I bought a second one for my mother-in-law's place.

New today

Got the generator today and ran it for a few hours. There were no issues running but I wished they would have provided only enough oil to fill it. There was just a bit more than needed and it flowed out a bit. Not a big deal just actually the only thing I found. Otherwise it seems a very well made generator with well though out packaging. I used the propane setup and it was perfect.

Running great so far...

I haven't owned this generator very long, but it seems to be holding up. It has stuttered under load a bit but it is new and was running in the cold, so the oil may be a little more viscous and affect performance? I'll try to update this review after more use if necessary.

Excellent Functionality

I was in the market for quite a while looking for a quality generator. After a few months' good works, I finally found and bought iGen4500DF, an inverter with less than 3% power distortion, 52 db quietness, dual fuel capability, and much more ... It's just exactly what I need.

Dual Fuel is a perk

We had been using a smaller Honda gasoline generator and decided we wanted an inverter generator with propane. We dry camp a bit and carry gasoline for our ATV, but we plan to travel with only the camper and being able to just bring propane (which will be used for the camper also) is a big bonus. So far, we just picked it up and ran it a little to make sure everything worked OK. Our residence is at 5200 ft. elevation, we camp around 8,000 to 10,000 ft. It appears we'll need 2 or 3 jet orifices for altitude adjustment, so that will not be as convenient as other generators we've owned (Onan 5500 had just a slide adjustment for altitude). While securing the small starter battery, we thought the strap had broken. On looking closer, the metal clip is split and allowed part of the rubber strap to slide off. Easy fix and hopefully it stays in place.
